Hi I'm posting because I have an job interview next week for a Playgroup Manager position. I have worked at the Playgroup for 18 months but I'm up against a Deputy Manager of a Day Nursery and a Nursery school teacher. I could really do with some help about which questions they are likely to ask in the interview so that I can prepare myself, as I don't usually cope well in interviews due to nerves. I have been told that they will be using a new set of questions from the Pre-School Learning Alliance and I was wondering if anybody knew which questions they use. I'm in Yorkshire and I have download some examples of interview questions off the web but was wondering if anyone …

Hi, I am in the process of opening a new preschool. I am looking for some advice on whether I should be a profit making business or a non-profit making? What are the pros, cons and differences? Also, do I have to have a committee for the preschool or can I be the sole owner and make all decisions? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks x

We are a pre-school who run from our village hall, we've 11 staff and we have 10 sessions available each week - ok sounds sort of normallish so far BUT we're not listed as a charity, private company and we don't have a committee which is where the possible problem lies. We're going through our R.A.G meetings at the moment and our situation has been flagged up. All money from fee's that comes into the group goes directly to pay wages, hire of the hall, bills, new toys etc etc. We're not a profit making group and when we fundraise the money goes directly to benefit the children such as trips, people coming in to the group (tumble tots etc) or for a big item of e…

Hello everyone We're making a big sandpit in our garden. It will be about 5m x 4m. Can anyone suggest the best way to cover it? We're not worried about keeping the sand dry, but just keeping animals out and keeping it reasonably clean and safe! A solid cover is going to be too big and heavy to use, I think. Is there a better alternative to a tarpaulin weighted down? Thanks Beehive
