Hi all, Need to get something off my chest! Deep breath, a member of staff sent me a txt message saying she has hurt her back and wont be in for the rest of the week on Monday night. Am I getting old or am I the only one who does not think that this is very professional behaviour? Your thoughts on the matter would be gratefully recieved, thank you

Hi, Do any of you have a good invoice that explains the free entitlement on it? We are reviewing ours as we need to submit one to our LEA to examine and I think it needs better clarification. Have looked in the resources file but the previous one submitted was 2009. Thanks for your help.

Hi can anyone tell me if the manager of a committee run preschool can be the main contact person for Ofsted? My chair person has just stood down and she is currently the contact person. My thinking is that I would be better doing it as I am there every day and am aware of how to do the day to day running of the setting. Am sure I read in another thread that the manager was the main contact.Any advice gratefully received

Hi I am looking for a quality improvement tool to work through in my setting as a staff team to assess our environment. I have heard of ECERs and Wellbeing and Involvement scale (Leavers). I was wondering if any of you have used these or indeed know of any other quality improvement tools? Would it be preferable to complete a SEF before completing one of these tools or vice versa?

Hi Everyone I have began interviewing this week for a part time position in my Pre-School, 1st interview this morning not very sucessful! Applicant had quite negative body language, explained that she would be halving her present hourly rate (rate explained before interview!) and that she would go home and let me know if she wanted the job!! Eventually spoke to her and she said she had forgot!! Also said she hadn't had her confirmation letter (everyone else had, all posted same day in same p…

http://www.ico.gov.uk/ Saw this on the BBC website, see the above link to the Information Commissioners Office stating that parents can take photos and video of their child's nativity performance provided it is for personal use. I know that this has been discussed previously and we came to the above conclusion but it's always good to have uptodate concrete information.

Hi all Well the deputy of the school club for which I am on the committee is awful at paperwork and filing. We have cheques for late booking fees in backs of cupbaords, I went in a few weeks ago and found old accident forms incident forms not filed away, paperwork in draws and not locked up and today a staff member has not been paid as she didnt hand in his bank details to treasurer and she now cant find them! Truely awful and very frustrating. Being in the childcare profession I have supported this girl whilst she has been doing the managers job but there is only so much i can do or else Imight as well do the job myself. I have already spoken to her about this and…

I am hoping to start a consultation period with local parents on expanding our service to full day care so as to offer places to working/studying parents as our times are not as flexiable for these groups. Has any one any questionaires that they have used in the past that can support my business case
