Hi Up until now we have always let children wear scarfs when outside we just tuck them inside their jacket/coat! Had a parent come in today who said at her childs other nursery they are not aloud to bring in scarfs due to health & safety?!! What does everyone else do?! I know I had my scarf and hat on today!! Hi everybody Some time ago I downloaded a ladybird calculation activity plan that somebody kindly shared on the forum. I have adapted and used this in my setting but now want to use this as evidence for my current FD module and need to ask the person's permission to use it. Any ideas?

This presented me with a mountain of work when as a new manger I should of been spending time getting to know the children etc. Needled to say I struggle through the first year with only the support from one advisor. I had no contact with a sure start teacher until June. When I got my appraisal I was gutted at the opinion of the committee and felt that they had no true concept of the reasons f…

Hi I have just taken over as manager of a small local playgroup/pre-school and have got the task of completing a risk assessment of a employee who is approx 5 months pregnant. We have since invested in a small changing table as I was not happy with children being changed on the floor and adults heads being near the toilet! I understand that the employee may not be able to lift toddlers onto the changing table but is there any reason why she cannot change wet clothes when childre…

I am currently undertaking a level 3 in first line management and need your help We have been asked to find out what kind of leader we are by asking for feedback from our staff teams only I don't know where to start. Has anyone ever sent out a questionnaire to their staff to evaluate how well you are doing?
