I am sure/hopeful that we are not the only setting struggling with this so I thougth I would try and pick all your wonderful brains!! We have a nominated EYPS who is working towards her degree and will go on to do the EYPS and is our Graduate Leader. As I understand it, her role is to develop practice across all areas of the EYFS. I am struggling what to "give" her to do as I feel she should be able to go into the setting and see what needs doing. How is everyone else finding working with a Graduate Leader? What kind of things are they doing? What specific responsibilities do they have? Thanks in advance!

What it means is that if the staff feel like it, they don't have to back our preschool back into the cupboards and could just leave when session finishes, leaving me to pack up! Can't be roght

Hi, this is my first post on here so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place!! I run a full time day care nursery and have been advised that it will be a good idea to implement peer observations!!! Not sure how staff are going to react to this but feel that it could be really beneficial! I was hoping for some advice or guidance from anyone who has peer observations at their setting! Thanks in advance

Behaviour Management

Hi everyone! I once came across a wonderful idea of behaviour management in this forum. It involved a display of a tree and children names or something like that. Unfortunately, I can't find it here now. Could anyone remind me of it, please? Thank you.

Hi help please. We are a packaway setting and have large heavy boards that we presently display artwork on and push to the side of the stage at the end of a session as the hall is multi-used. Following a wonderful idea on here of a art gallery we would like to separate the boards with each child's individual space for them to choose and display their art when the children would like to. My dilemma is how can i do this to identify to the children their spot and to parents but enable us to protect names etc when we are not there. We currently have 50 children on roll rising to 60 in January 2011. So the thought of taking name cards down each session is really a no no,…

Recruitment And Health Questions

Has anyone heard anything about legal changes that mean you are unable to ask health questions on job application forms from October? I think it's something to do with new equality legislation that's coming in, but I can't remember/find where I saw this. I'm sure it said you would have to send a health questionnaire out when/once the job offer is made.
