Home Visits

Hope someone can save me some time! Several of my staff have approached me about wanting to start home visits (which is brilliant as it is something I have always wanted to introduce, and was waiting for the right moment!) and we were thinking we could try to do them in the first few weeks of term as a way of further getting to know our new starters. Has anyone already got a parent letter or info sheet explaining why you do home visits and the benefits that you wouldn't mind sharing? Only had less than a week off and already my brain has stopped working! Thanks in advance

Holiday Statement In Contracts
by Guest- 5 replies

Hope someone can help!!!!! Your paid holiday entitlement will be in accordance with the regulations established in the Working Time Directive 1998. You will be entitled to the minimum statutory entitlement which is currently *5.6 weeks annually in every holiday year [1 October-31 September], to be taken at such time or times as may be approved by the employer. If your employment commences or terminates part way through a holiday year, your entitlement to holiday during that year will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for each complete month of service. Where, on this basis, the holiday already taken exceeds holiday entitlement, the employer reserves the right to a…

Does anyone do group toileting as in you have a specific time for when you take children to the toilet. At say 10:30 - 11:00. Our children cannot access the toilets themselves because we are in a shared community centre and they are on the other side of the building. Staff therefore have to escort them. We have an extra member of staff to take on this role although staff take it in turns during the session so that they are not on continuously doing this. Although we seem to be in the toilet all of the time and get very little else done. I know Ofsted probably don't like group toileting at a specific time especially with what it stipukates in the EYFS and I'm not keen on i…

Hi all, I was wondering what sorts of things you monitor in your nurseries to ensure the quality of provision. There's the obvious things like planning, learning journeys, menu, risk assessments... but what other sorts of things do you keep an eye on and how?? Thanks!

Settings In Cricket Pavilions?
by Guest- 4 replies

I've been searching for premises for a nursery for ages without success and a potential share of a cricket pavilion has just come up. Does anyone work in a pack away setting in a cricket club pavilion ? If so, I would be vey grateful if you could highlight any particular positives or negatives, or give any general feedback as to the mutual benefits. If anyone would be willing to share any 'ball park' figures of rental charged this would also be extreemly useful. Any comments / advice from anyone would be very welcome. Thank you.
