The consultation on proposed changes to the statutory framework is now open until July 26th. There's a really handy summary on the consultation page. Many refer to changes for childminders version of the EYFS but some affect group settings as well such as reducing the 50% requirement for staff to be level 2 qualified, and experience routes to be included in ratios. I always say if you have a view, have a voice. What are thoughts once you've had a look? EYFS consultation (Please delete if the topic has already been started)

Can anyone direct me to a definitive answer for NNEB level 3 status for 1987?!!!! The school I am working for won’t recognise my certificate because the wording on it does not match the exact wording on the D of E list of approved qualifications. D of E states it has to be an exact match-when that is not possible. This is just plain stupid-who compiled the list & from looking at how many certificates? I worked really hard to gain my NNEB. There are lots of wording variations for the NNEB certificate pre 1990s which don’t match D of E-is everyone else still in employment working without level 3 full compliance? Fellow students I know are in EYFS set…

Having spoken to Early Years Equality co-founder Claire Kenyon for our recent podcast, I wanted to let everyone here know, if you don't know already, about a demonstration march they are organising. I'll certainly be going to help raise awareness of the exceptional practice and provision that goes largely unrecognised, in thousands of early years settings. My hope is that we can stop using the word 'childcare' to diminish this important work in supporting young children's learning and development.
