Our local school has just announced that they will be delivering the 15 hr provision from Sept by only offering 2 full days plus one half day session, ie a full time place for 5 days a week will be split between 2 children. This has caused real umbridge with many parents locally, and I just wanted a quick straw poll to know if your local schools are offering EITHER A) 2 full days plus one half day (i.e 2 x 6.25 hrs plus 2.5 hrs) OR B ) 5 mornings plus one afternoon/ or 5 afternoons plus 1 morning (6 x 2.5 hrs) Or C) 3 hr am sessions or 3 hr pm sessions( to include a lunch) (5 x 3 hrs) or D) anything else As I have been elected to the LEA Schools Forum…

Sorry people as you can probably see im looking in to making sum changes? If only they would pay us enough to cover running costs?

Ratios - Trained /untrained Staff

Hello - I really, really meant to call ofsted today to find out the answer to this , but didnt quite get 5 seconds to do it !!!! In a pre-school adult to child ratio and qualifications . If I have 4 members of staff working together, how many need to be trained to L3 ? I think the eyfs states that the person in charge should be at least L3 and half of all other staff but but with 4 that doesnt quite work as you cant have half a person - anyone help ????? This doesnt usually come into play with us but we have had a hideous run of unusually high staff sickness and some days our emergency plans have been strained to a limit ! DIZZZZZ

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could advise me how I should proceed with the following. Every Friday I attend Uni, so my deputy telephones me every frid evening with an update. We have a member of staff who is due to return from maternity leave in June (this is after having 12months leave), she is still completing her NVQ and attends the session on a Friday (for the morning session) to remain in the loop, carry on with her studies etc, she is counted in the ratio. During the morning setting up she started to put out the children's trays, this is usually left until last until the rest of the hall is set up. The deputy asked her to leave the trays and help se…

Advice please - our contracts clearly state that staff cannot book holiday in term time unless they have prior permission from the committee - I have a member of staff who has just emailed me to say that she has booked a holiday for 2 weeks in June - (our busiest term with staff working their maximum days). This is the 2nd year she has done this - she was told last year that it should have gone through committee first but she was given the benefit of the doubt as she claimed it was a surprise present from family. How should I deal with this - I feel mean as she does work hard but the reason she has given is that they can't afford to go abroad in the holidays - nor c…
