Hi - a couple of weeks ago - maybe 3 weeks - someone posted a link to a set of fantastic leaflets all about different aspects of Early Years - mark making , patterns . They were in leaflet form but I can't find link and I'v searched cwdc site and teachernet but have come up fruitless - anyone help please ? Thank you Dizz

What is your settings policy on allowing parents to collect their children when they have been drinking? I don't mean just a glass of wine with dinner, but several pints. I always thought it was to contact other emergency contacts and if no-one available, then the duty social worker (who are already involved).

We as some of you will be aware I have recently been promoted to deputy and officaily take over has senior in Sept... however the senior now has asked me to complete a QIP our LEA have asked for it..... and you guessed we haven't done it! What kind of things do i put in it... there are many areas of provision i would like to improve... does it have to be all (cosmetic) outdoor area needs a total overall... we need to decorate inside.... but then staff need to update their training pointers please

Can I ask what is your policy on the new swine flu vacinations? Current our policy for vacination is to exclude a child for 24 hrs after vacination. (This has been due to very ill children still coming in to us and also bad reactions to vacinations) We stand by the rule that we believe children that are unwell should be kept at home so to ensure they are not spreading unwanted illness, whoever we understand that colds are always around and we don't count that type of illness. we have had unwell children who all they need is parental care, I am sure many of you know where I am coming from! Hi Can someone point me in the right direction please. I have read somewhere that if a setting has a volunteer helper in on a regular basis they need a CRB. I am trying to find out what is classed as 'regular basis' - I thought it was based on a helper attending more than twice in a month but I cannot find anything which states that - I am sure I have read it on here but still cannot find it. Is there some legislative guidance somewhere? Help! Thank you

Hi, I have just received a lovely package of 1000 photos that we have had developed charting the opening of our setting from September onwards. I want to put them into an 'Our pre-school's Learning Diary' type folder. I am trying to decide on the best way to organize; Chronologically or in mini-sub-topics or under the 6 area headings and then broken down further into 'mark making', 'making music', 'Exploratory play' etc. Any advice?

Ofsted - Staff Training...

Hello I've been asked to do a staff training session as a top up for all members of staff - we know Ofsted wil be coming sometime before Easter so think staff wanted a refresher!! So have been looking through some recent ofsted reports from local settings to get an idea of what they are "keen" on at the moment, but thought it would be helpful if anyone has had a recent inspection to find out what sort of questions they have asked? what they have been looking at in alot of detail etc?
