by Guest- 8 replies

Hi Need your help working this out. I get paid £6.18 per hour and work 29 hour per week (excluding unpaid lunch break). According to my contract i am "entitled to 5.6 wks paid leave. This means 5.6 times the number of sessions normally worked under terms of contract (29 hr for me). This will be paid in 2 equal installments one 28 July and one 28 dec. Holiday year runs 1 Jan to 31 Dec" So i started job in Sept and I think I have been paid holiday pay of approx 1 week worth. How do they work this out? I understand how to calculate term time only holidays using one website already put on here 29 hr x 38 weeks per yr = 1102 hrs per yar 1102/46.4 weeks = 23.…

Hello does anybody have a template for a staff risk assessment they could share. We have a member of staff who is pregnant and another who has recurrent back problems on rostered cleaning days (yet can carry children on her hip perfectly fine ). Anyway, would like to be able to show what they can do, rather than can't IYSWIM.

Hello everyone I'm sure I've seen a thread on this before, but I'm not sure how to find it. I make my registers (for a day nursery with two rooms) on a table in Word, but someone told me its better to do it in Excel. I've just tried a prototype, but when I printed it, the lines of rows and columns don't show, so there is no box to write arrival times etc. We have columns showing child's name, hours booked, arrival time, departure time, whether they are having breakfast, lunch and tea, and any extra time to be charged. I wondered what everyone else does? Do you use paper registers? What format do you use? Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas everyone! Beehive

Is anyone having problems with a certain voucher company that was took over in October??. I have just spent 20 minutes on the phone to be told there seems to be a problem with everything. I have 2 parents telling me payments have been deducted from salaries and held by this company and the parent must ring this company as there is a problem!!! How does that look when we ask them for the money. I cannot make the system give me any details of payments made/remittances given for any time period. Not impressed by them at all. No trace on bank statements. GRRRR And then she wished me a happy xmas but did not know when it will be working again

Hi all Please could you help, what is the legal requirements when one parent says that the other parent is not allowed to pick up their child, but both parents details are on the application form. I assume there has to be some legal documentation to support this statement. The parent had just stated that they do not want the other parent picking up their child. Please help Many thanks Carly

Evening, In addition to being a pre-school leader I am on the committee at my son's pre-school. An issue has come up there and the leader is asking my advice and I really don't know the answer.... She has a child who is very difficult to manage in terms of neediness and behaviour. The child is taking up an adult's time 1:1 each time she is in and she is full-time so proving to be a real drain on staffing. They want to put her on early years Action and Action Plus, give her an individual play plan and start putting together evidence to gain funding for some 1;1. The Mum is adamant that she does not want any of this to happen and does not want her daughter to h…

Hi, With Christmas and the credit crunch appreciate that a lot of parents must be finding it difficult to pay for their children's childcare sessions. I know there have been discussions on this before but would like your opinions and advice on what to do. We have several parents who despite having 3 reminder letters about money they owe us, still haven't paid hardly anything of their debts. Next term the children will be funded so the parents wll only have to pay top-up fees.. So the dilemma is what do we do? Do we tell them their child cannot come back to Pre-School after Christmas or do we let them stay and hope they can pay off their debt once the child is funded? It'…

Going For Grants
by Guest- 2 replies
- 1.1k views
Hi all, I've just spent the last few weeks completing an application for a capital funding bid. Now that I've done that one, and all the paperwork that had to be created for it, I feel like I'm on a roll and it would be much easier to do some more. I'm going for an Awards for All bid in the new year, plus one for free internet for a year from BT. Can anyone tell me of any other awards or grants that they know of that I could bid for?

If you are a Community Interest Company or know a lot about being one, especially if you were previously a charity I hope you can help me. I've looked at the website that Shiny directed simcity last week and seems a lot to take in. What I was wondering was if someone could explain who runs a CIC like a Chair, Treasurer would do for a charity and whether it is straight foward to do change from one to the other. Thanks ppp
