Hello, Please can you help me by completing the attached questionnaire regarding the employment of EYP's in Early Years settings? I am researching how the employment of EYP's in Early Years Settings improves quality and outcomes for children. This is for my dissertation for my BA (hons) in Early Years Management at Liverpol Hope Uni. I am trying to collect as many responses as I can, at the moment we dont have many EYP's in post in our Local Authority, so I am struggling a bit I understand that everyone is really busy but I would really appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks Julie EYP_QUESTIONNAIRE_MANAGERS.doc

Hi Please can anyone tell me what the water temperature regs are. Our setting is in a private house with a shared water tank. I cannot find anywhere where there is advice on this. Does anyone else have this issue. Are there tap regulators for temperature. Do some settings use cold water- Mrs O is due and i am panicking. Any advise? thanks in advance for any suggestions

Hi, I spoke to Ofsted yesterday to see if we are allowed to go over our numbers for a 2 hour party (so that we don't have to invite a parent for every child who takes us over our maximum - this would make it much too crowded in the room). They were helpful and said if I email and send a risk assessment which includes having extra staff on duty that day, as well as anything else I could think off, this should be OK. I've sent the letter and risk assessment and am waiting for a reply - has anyone else ever got approval for this type of thing from Ofsted? thanks, A

Just a heads up to anyone who, like us, keeps copies of children's birth certificates. We thought this was good practice but now our advisory service is saying this may breach the Data Protection Act. Has anyone else come across this? We were advised to add a box on our registration forms instead, indicating who has parental responsibility.

this might sound harsh but i have a new member of staff been with us since september 9 weeks total. She is still on probation till end of Nov. She works thurs and fri morning. out of a possible 18 sessions she has only worked 10. this is really awarkward because of ratios. the staff or children have not had time to relate to her. her reasons for being ill seem valid although another member of staff disagrees with me. What do I do she is back on thursday after 3 weeks off. buttercup
