Does anyone take home childrens assessments to write them up? If so is it legal to do so?

All set up but finding it very confusing. Anyone else in the same boat? We are using it with PAYE and not sure if we are doing it correctly or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi We are full day care, open all year round and we have only ever had full-time staff working 8 1/2 hour shifts. Recently we've realised that many other settings have staff working all kinds of variations of part-time and we know that one or two of our staff would prefer to work fewer days. My big worry is key workers and continuity of care. Does anyone have any experience or advice about this please? The only solution I can see is a child having two key workers but I don't know how this can be made to work as well as just having one. I also worry about how Ofsted would view it. Can anyone help please?

Hi All I'm starting a new job after the Easter holidays as a Manager. I have been completing and EY2 this afternoon but it won't accept my DBS number that is registered with the update service. I have emailed ofsted to ask but know they won't get back to me for a while. Does anyone know why. I have read some ofsted info and it says that it must be enhanced and state child workforce which mine does. It was completed through Capita aswell.

Anyone recently been inspected? If so what questions did they ask a staff member about their key children? Someone I work with is worrying about what depth the questioning will go to?

What do you discuss at yours? I am currently devising a form that I can use to document these and to keep me a bit more focused! I am also wondering what headings you have on supervision forms as I am not happy with our current ones. Thanks for any help.

I currently use the 'All about me' form kindly added to this site a few years ago but I am now looking for something a little bit more specific to enable staff to create the child's baseline earlier using Parent's input as well. In the ideal world I would like to have half an hour with each parent during their child's settling in session but often it is grandparents or childminders bringing the children in and it would also mean taking a staff member out of the room. So my thinking is that if there was a form that parent's could complete (similar to the one parent's do for the HV 2 yr check) this may help - then keyperson could go through it if parent had the time. H…
