Well, I got a form from the County to fill in my staff's qualifications and check against the CWDC site to highlight ongoing training needs. I've done this before, not too long ago, so I thought it would be a breeze - but 'HOW ABOUT NO!' My Open University Foundation Degree doesn't even appear on their list!! The Certificate in Early Years Practice does, but the Foundation Degree has disappeared! Anyone else found this - and who do I complain to - CWDC or Open Uni?

Hi, would anyone have a job description for relief staff, I have looked through the resource library and can find all other job desriptions. I have a parent who has expressed an interest in providing cover for illness/training etc and I think if I give her a job description for Pre-school assistant she could very well be running out the door!! Thanks for your help Kristina

I am looking at the possibility of installing these at our pre-school. Does anybody have any experience, good or bad of these that I need to know about? Staff all willing to look at the possibilities, I hadn't expected such a positive response. Also does anybody know of any companies that provide such equipment, and what the costs are. Thankyou Debbie

I have 7 parents that have walked away with out paying 3 from last July that I have been chasing for a year. So finally after being shouted at on the phone and told "take me to court" from this mother I have done that gone through the small claims court. Very easy to do really pleased until this morning when I get the letter back from the court saying she has admitted she owes the money and will pay me back 0.01p per month!!!!!!!!! I've now got to go back and dispute the payment DERRRRRR I am so annoyed that the Court system allows people to do this it makes a mockery of the courts. Doesn't stop this mother having more children that she can't pay for but aqllows her to w…

Hello - we have a vacancy for a pre-school practitioner at the moment and I have several applications. However 2 are from people completing their FD - working with children - fantastic, I was very impressed. However having read their applications - neither work with children regularly. I must admit I'm shocked that they can complete the course, I know my expereinces make up my assignments everytime and I have lots of Ob's etc to do. They do not have any other childcare qualification either. They are both in year 3 of their FD (same Uni, funny enough- fortuantley not mine), 1 has worked for 6 mnths in a pre-school several years a go and now is a bank TA in a s…
