Uniforms

can i just ask what others do... a year ago staff decided they didn't want a uniform so it was agreed that everyone would wear the same colour, committee agreed to give all staff £65 each to buy some tops in that colour, now a year on staff are complaining that they need more money to replace the clothes.... there are 9 staff so this works out quite expensive.. i have never had this problem before because where i used to work we all wore our own clothes with a badge saying who we were... it worked well... my staff at this setting don't want to wear there own clothes because they say they get ruined.... i just feel like i'm banging my head against a brick wall with this...…

Swine Flu Shutting Nursery 1 2

One of my kids has swine flu and we are in the process of calling in health agencies. The thing that is worrying me is if we do have to close would the staff still get paid? The owner is a real tight wad and would love not to pay us but would some form of insurance cover her for these sorts of incidents?

Hi all Probably been asked many times before but just trying to remain viable and competitive in today's economic climate and wondered what settings in a similar situation to ours charged for fees - particularly interested in those of you based in Cheshire. We are committee run sessional pre school Open 2.5hrs per session term time only (7 sessions per week) Pay rent (we are church hall based) Employ 6 staff (all part time) Our current rate of fees for children not entitled to NEG is £7.72 per session. Hope you don't mind sharing with me what your current fees are please - just trying to get some ideas for passing onto committee. Thanks in advance

What Policies?

I work in a maintained Nursery school and our HT has just gone on long term sick. To cut a long story short, myself and another teacher have been left with a massive mess with regard to policies/paperwork etc. Please could anyone post - or tell me where I can find- a list of basic policies that we should have in place to ensure we meet EYFS statuatory requirements. Thanks for any help- I know this is a big ask.
