Hi All Does anyone know if companies have to pay you if you dont work bank holidays. Our company does not, the nursery is closed bank holidays, parents still get charged, company decision not to open bank holidays, therefore staff are not working. However the company do not pay the staff, i dont think this is fair. Do you get paid, how does it work, are they breaking laws by not paying staff. Most are on minimum wage, they dont get sick pay only SSP, is a bank holiday paid to much to ask. they are not losing money as parents are still paying!!! thanks all

Deputy Manager Job Description
by Guest- 2 replies
- 1.2k views
Hi all, Our deputy manager is the only person in the setting without an up to date job description. Does anyone here have one they would be willing to share with me that I could then ammend for our setting. Her basic duties are the same as play assistant, but then she is also SENCo and equal opps, and has her own action plan where she takes a lead on things we have identified as needing additional work, this academic year for example it is partnership with parents and the smartboard, and then she is expected to act up as and when necessary (currently one day per week - as our manager is on a course). Thanks Zoe. xxx

Hi all, Can anyone advise please? We have recently given the job of SENCO to our deputy leader. We need to amend her contract to show this. Can we just put 'refer to attached job description' or does the entire contract need to be rewritten? Also, I've been told (I'm a new chair) that she's not had a payrise for taking on this post, wouldn't we normally expect to offer one for this, it's a big job even though we don't have lots of children with special needs. Thanks in advance for any help.

It Equipment Ideas Please
by Guest- 7 replies

Hello We have been given £1700 to spend on ICT equipment for the Pre-School! We have a meeting tonight and the chair has phoned to say she would like to discuss how to spend the money so needs ideas and quotes for tonight!! I've had a look by searching on Google, but can't find a supplier who seems to specialise in childrens equipment. Do anyone had any names/web address etc??? I think we are after a new computer but with touch screen/childrens keyboard software and a laptop with printer. If we have some left we would also like a digital camera for the children, has anyone tried the Fisher Price one? what are your opinions? Many thanks
