Two Year Olds In Pre-school

Hi This is my first post so I hope I do ok I have been eavesdropping for months though I just wondered if any of you out there had any thoughts about taking very young two year olds in a one room (fairly small) nursery. I am worried about the changes in our continuous provision for 3 - 4 year olds i.e. What we would or wouldnt be able to have out each day. Thanks

Hi I've been asked my the pre-school manager to sort out the staff files as I'm their Chairperson. Just wondered in light of the new EYFS what should or should not be kept in their individual staff file. Thinks that come to mind are: Training certs and a list of training accessed or ongoing training. Their CRB cert (or does this break data protection) Past references, CV Any verbal or written warnings given. Staff Contact and Emergency Details. Health declaration. Should there also be copies of their signatures when they've read updated policies. Is there anything else that should be there or should now not be there. Trying…

hi every one, bit of a tricky one here!! ive had a complaint about a staff member from a parent who happens to be a staff member also! apparently when taking children to a visit yesterday she swore in the car then questioned child about personal issues other staff told her she didnt want to discuss ,the child got upset and mum was livid, then she ivoked the whistlblowing policy and said the staff in question has roughly handled a baby the same day-others have substanciated this. the staff member thinks she is being picked on as feels a grudge is held, she cried all day when given letter to attend a meeting, was going to go with final warning what do you think??

Hi I have been given a SWOT form to fill in by my early years advisors for staff develpoment ... before i give these to the staff i want to be clear in my own mind how you fill them in... i may be being a little slow here but there are 4 boxs around the outside which have headings off strenghs,weaknesses, opportunities and threats and in the middle job title.... i'm not sure what they mean by threats.... i cant expect my staff to fill them in when i'm unsure myself.... does anybody else use these for their staff....

I am sure somewhere there were 'offical' dcsf type evaluation examples to give to parents, staff and children to gather their views of the setting. Does anyone know what i am talking about and where I can find them or something similiar?? Or am i just going mad....... (quite likely!!!)

A little girl at our setting has got a statement and she can have 1.5 hours per session teaching assistant. I need to put together an advert, but having never done this before have no idea where to start!! Can anyone tell me what the "going" rate of pay would be?
