Update!

Hi Update..supervisor says she is never going to another comm meeting (with current comm) as she is getting so stressed out (she very nearly resigned!) and it is making her feel sick. She said it was awful. A potential new comm member turned up (was on committe 4 years ago but now has another child just started at pre-school) and told supervisor later she could not believe how horrendous it was and the way they spoke to supervisor! (supervisor currently trying to get info about our new PVI for support) Apparently £6k has been spent on agency staff and there is only £1k left! They are going to put fees up by £2 per session, have got lots of interested new parents but…

Job Descriptions

Hi Everyone I have decided to redo the job descriptions in my nursery, as i feel the staff are not doing there jobs to a high standard and want to include the new eyfs bits, and add things like they are to do so many observations per week, as i feel these things are not being done, or one person is doing them all!! which isnt fair to that member of staff. So as i am going to be doing staff appaisials soon, i feel its a good way to start fresh and bring in these job descriptions. But would love if other people had some ideas of what i can add, i want them to include everything i expect from them, so if its not being done, i can pull them up on it!! Job De…

Hi everyone! This is my first go on here so I hope im doing it ok!! I am a manager and owner of a pre-school. I work on the floor all sessions so do all the paper work and planning outside of hours. I am finding it very hard to do all this and do all my learning journeys and observations. I was just wondering if there are any managers who do not do them or is it just me getting my time management under control? x

I have been searching but cannot quite find the answer to this one. Does anyone know if, when a funded place moves to a three hour session, will we still have the option to only offer 2.5 hours? I believe not but I could do with some urgent clarification. Thanks

I wonder if anyone knows which, if any, statutory framework(s) creches legally need to work to as regards to things like eg ratios, premises, policies, staff qualifications etc? As we offer only two hour sessions we don't need to follow eyfs and we don't need to register with ofsted. So is they anything we do need to follow legally - or do we just do what we like? Any one know please? Thanks

Hi We have recently changed to become incorporated (still with charity status) . Our committee agreed and signed up to be directors. However one week in and the treasurer and secretary have resigned. They seem to be dropping like flies. The reason they are giving is that they feel very pressured now it is like a 'company and they have director titles. We were advised by preschool learning alliance to make this change as it would protect the committee and give them liability of just £1.00 should anything go belly up! Another reason is that we can not apply for a much need grant unless we were incorporated. Has anyone any advice as to what can calm the committee! …
