Bedding, Sheets And Flannels

Can anyone in a Day Nursery give me ideas on how you manage to ensure children have their own sheets, flannels and bedding. What do you use for sleep mats? Do you provide clean sheets every day for children or do they use the same one all week for when they are in nursery? I just wanted to check that I am understanding and providing the right requirements under the EYFS and of course providing the best for the children. Thanks

This is my first post after years of reading excellent advice! Please advise me on this rather delicate situation. I have a relatively new member of staff, very keen to learn, lovely with the children, very flexible and willing. The trouble is, as is often the case with preschools, she used to have a child here so considers herself very 'in' with the committee and running of the group (she used to volunteer a lot) The problem I'm having is her spontaneous little chats with parents such as 'Oh your ** what a cheeky monkey he was today' or 'Oh no, your **didnt want to join in today'. Often this is at pick-up time in front of other parents. I feel it's my job as manage…

Hi All, Does anyone have a contract of employment they could share? I update ours (if they need to be) at the beginning every year for staff to re-sign when necessary. I've just started going through them again but wondered if there is anything i'm missing. There's always that feeling in the back of your mind!!! I work in a Pre-school if that's of any help!? Be great for any help/advice, more re-assurance ;-) Laura xxx

Hi there (I'm back at last after a few technical probs). I am currently the manager of a committee led pre-school and I am looking at doing it without the committee. Question 1 - I'm sure will be many more - Is anyone else aware of or using a payroll company to pay the wages, sort the p45/60's and help out with the payroll? I have found two companies; Devon PLA Payroll Service (which don't seem to actually pay the wages) and The Pre-School Payroll Service (which use the Standing Order system) Does anyone have experience of these and if so, is it good? Please do help and if you want to be discreet send me a personal message through the FSF. …

Im a english nursery teacher with an assistant in a large international school in spain, i teach a class of 26 children and the noise level gets very loud at times, as you can imagine! im looking for ideas to get the attention of the children without having to raise my voice or having to blow my whistle, which i do have to do in emergencies! i do flick the light switch off and back on, and ive started slapping my knees until they all start to join in, leading up to fingers on lips!! i just wondered if anyone had any other ideas that may help?
