I remember a while ago i found a website -which i thought was DFES- which listed all childcare related qualifications under which level they equated to. Now i can't seem to find it! Does anyone have any idea about this??

I interviewed a candidate today for a nursery nurse position who has FD and is currently taking the long route to EYPS. I would love to offer her a position, but have no idea how much to pay her. I asked her what she expected but she didn't know. Can anyone give an approx hourly rate? I am aware of the fund which can help with me with this and also the incentive given. I would like to offer her the position by friday so any guidance would be very gratefully accepted!! Many Thanks

Wet Pants!

Hi everyone, I have several children in my class who will just sit there on the carpet and wet themselves, they seem to think it as acceptable behaviour! We do toilet reminders every half an hour yet they refuse to go and then do it on the carpet! Any ideas how I can stop this? I have spoken to all their parents and they just think they will grow out of it and some don't believe me when I say I do toilet reminders! Thanks Rachel x

I am new to excel spreadsheets and am having trouble making one of my own for our petty cash. I currently use a two page sheet for each month and would like to get it on computer. This should make it so much easier to do the analysis, especially at the year end. Does anyone have something suitable they are willing to share? Thank you in advance!

Childcare Tax Credits

Great to see that the Pre School Learning Allliance is urging the government to pay direct to the settings rather than the individual. We are experiencing major problems in the sector by people claiming tax credits and then spending the money and not handing it over for what it was intended- Childcare!!!! Is this a common problem throughout the country?

Hi everyone, I have finally found a way of uploading my planning so that you can download from the forum. I use Office 2007 and the system doesn't like it! So I have converted it to an older programme. I have included literacy and numeracy medium and weekly plans. We had Ofsted last week and it went really well. I am still tired but pleased it is over. My plans were seen and they were impressed. They liked the Afl (assessment for learning) and success criteria (look, listen and note) especially for other adults working in class. I have tried to include my phonics planning but I think I have uploaded enough. Will try another time. Hope this is ok and that …
