Hello everyone, We are in the process of moving and our County Council have asked us for a completely broken down list of what we will use when we move (this is so we can apply for the funding). I have made a list of things - too many to list, but this includes; paint paper cloths anti-bac glue toilet roll folders pens batteries camera paper cornflour sequins and craft items etc etc etc....etc etc I'm finding it very difficult to make this list up and just wondered if any other sessional, 26 child setting with both out and indoors has a list they could send me as a guide? I've been told to complete by next week, so panic, panic, help! …

New Name?

Hi there I am new here but very keen to share with you all. I run an out of school club in a community association, we are a company limited by guarantee and registered charity. We have been asked by our local playgroup (charity) to take them over as they had so few members of the managment committe that they were in dange of closing. We agreed to take over but only if they converted to also become a Co limited by guarantee. (word of warning - make sure you know your liabilities if you are a charity only). All is going well and we feel that now is a good time to re-brand and get rid of our image a cosy parents playing with the kiddies set-up. We all feel …

Good News And Sad News 1 2 3

Well it's taken me over a week to share my news, coming to terms with it myself. Good news: During the summer holidays I had a cancer scare, basically a scan showed a cyst on my ovary, ultrasound then showed thickening of the womb, suddenly alarm bells rang and the hospital ran blood tests, took biopsy and talked about having a full hysterecomy within 3 weeks. Ironically my first question was if it needs to be done can I have it done in time to recover before September as I need to get back to work!. It was not until I drove home that I realized the seriousness of it. I only then began to think about health ( and family) before work. End result that thankfully test …

I emailed CRB, Ofsted, TMG, Nestor, Capita and DCSF regarding rechecking staff after 3 years and the need for volunteers/helpers who might only help once a term to have a CRB. The answers are here CRB_INFO.rtf

Treasurer Trouble!
by Guest- 27 replies

Hi there, Abby here once again! I'm a bit concerned over this for our future Our Treasurer has been with us for five years (with a gap year). This has been fine (relatively), but he had a period os some hardship and we agreed to pay him £20 monthly expenses. Within a period of just over a year this has increased to £40, then £60. He has said he'll resign if we don't pay more. At present there has been a bit more for him to do as we are moving and there have been some lengthy forms to fill in and projections to make, however this won't last as we are budgeting for an administrator to take on some of this role and they will be on site at the pre-school so we…

Tenancy Agreement - Sign Or Get Out!
by Guest- 24 replies

We are really at the end of our tether - on the last week of the summer term we received a tenancy agreement to sign from the local parish council ( we rent the community centre). When we returned in Sept our committee have had a look at it and raised several issues - mainly that we have sole occupancy and the council want us to sign saying they can rent another room, that we use and we will share the kitchen and toilets + no mention of usbeing able to use the outside area - also the shared kitchen would lead straight into our hall. So we wrote a really nice letter asking for clarification - we were shocked to receive a reply the next morning handed over our fence sayi…

Deputy Leader

Can any body help me with the legalities concerning the following query. If we have a level 3 leader, and another level three on the premesis, (but in an office at the rear of the building) can our deputy be in training as a level 3, i.e she has one term under her belt of a 4 term course, is that allowable with Ofsted? Do they count "in training" as being adequate does anyone know?

Manager's Role
by Guest toddleo- 26 replies

Our current leader is totally snowed under ( I know, we all are!) We are looking for ways to ease the burden, and one idea was to make her supernumerary, and let her do paperwork in another room during a session. My questions to you, are: Do any other manager's/leaders have this luxury? Do any other manager's /leaders have a full quota of Key children (11 each in our case) or, as manager's are they excluded from key children. Any other bruilliant suggestions to help us in our plight It is all getting sticky, chairman of committee has resigned (no vice chair either) leader will go soon, I just know it.....
