As part of a course I am on I have to hoose a topic on which to do research and I HAVE CHOOSEN TO LOOK AT MAINTAINING (not sure why I am shouting)standards and how to ensure we are always giving the best care and education possible.We have more than one setting so I cannot be personnally present at them.I am sure that the task would be easier if we could afford to pay for the very best staff but we have to work with staff of very varying experience and abilities.Any ideas would be brill

Unfortunately I missed the C.A.F. training. Are we able to refer children using this form and do we send them to the Area SENCO. I have been trying to contact my EYDCP with no success but I know someone will help me on here.

Has anyone ever had to carry out a survey to see if there is a need for a setting prior to opening one?if so could you help me with some questions? It might be on a school premises so do you think targeting just the parents of the children attending the first school would be enough evidence? I seem to always be asking questions on here hopefully one day I will be able to contribute! sharon

We are a committee run pre-school and the committee have decided to update our contracts. However, we have all got the opportunity of changing our job titles to suit our jobs better. Can anyone help with job title they use in their setting please. We have a Manager, a Preschool Deputy a Nursery Leader (birth to three room) and several preschool assistants. Any help would be great

Am not sure if this is in the correct place but here goes. Does anyone have a written contract for parents to sign when their childs starts at the setting? My chairperson has asked me to post, because when we go back in September we hope to open more afternoon sessions. Our problem is that we have to be out of the building by 2.50 pm so that the after school club can set up. At the moment we have one parent who is constantly late to pick up her child after our only pm session and this is making it difficult for us to get out on time. We wondered if it would be an idea to start as we mean to go on and have a contract and give it out to all parents in Sept. Any help would…

Saturday night and all I can think about is work how sad is that! Can anyone put me out of my misery? !! and share what records/documents and forms that you have in the kitchen ie temperature log etc Been on a basic food hygiene course today and they wizzed throu and didnt really cover records at all I dont think ours are sufficient or detailled enough and definately need some attention.
