Hi everyone, Recently at our setting i have been noticing that staff are using their ipads more and more and engaging with the children less. I have spoken with start surrounding this and they assure me that they are using Tapestry. I have turned on screen monitoring on all our ipads to get an idea of the time that staff are spending on their ipads. for instance, i had a member of staff start at 8.50 and by 12.15 they had used their ipad for 2hours 4minutes. To me this seems an extremely long time to be on an ipad in such a short time. I would expect staff to be on ipads for no more than 1hour 30 minutes per day (7hours 30minute work day) …

Hello all Would anybody be willing to share some ideas of how your snack times work in your settings please? We have 2~4 year olds. What foods do you have? How do you serve the foods? Are the children involved in the preparation etc Thank you in advance

We are a charity committee run preschool and our hours are 9.00am-3.00pm we offer additional hours which is an 8.30 start and a 3.30 finish. Do these additional hours have to be included in the 15/30 hours funding or can we charge extra for this? We were advised that we can charge extra as it is a way of getting extra income for the preschool and also we need to cover the cost of staffing, electricity and heating bills but its not clear if we can do this. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm just looking to see what other people do about Christmas Card lists in your setting. Do you give out lists of the children's names if the parents ask for them or do you encourage them to just send cards to the friends that they mention? Thank you in advance

Hi, we are a nursery attached a school. Our headteacher is trying to force us to have more children than the room space allows for. Our room is big enough for 16 children but he wants us to go over that. I have made him aware many times of the EYFS statutory framework and what it says but I am getting nowhere. Any advice that anyone can give would be very welcome please.

Hello, We have been using tapestry for a few years now and have read that care diary's will be added to the app in the future. Is this still being looked into and if so can we have a rough timescale please? we are a 80 place setting and are very keen at using your care diary system, but unfortunately using it on the online version is not sustainable for us as only management are able to log into the online version. We would be willing to trial the care diary on the app as and when you have created this, thank you, Karen Busby
