Hi everyone Can I just confirm I am not nuts. If you wish to move your setting to alternative accommodation you need to get the next building checked by Ofsted? can you open without them visiting and agreeing it is ok to function from the new premises?

Hi, has anyone received an email from 'Busy Bees' saying that they have taken over 'You at Work' childcare vouchers? I've received an email from Busy Bees saying they will be managing the process of You at Work and that I need to register with their company. I've had no communication from You at Work and there's nothing on their website saying they've changed. I'm always super paranoid these days that emails are all scams!!

Hi I have a business bank account with Nat West. They are increasing their charges fro sep so have started to look around to see what others are offering. metro seem to offer free banking if you stay within certain limits which I think we may be able to. Does anyone use metro or can you recommend your bank?

I'm currently helping a local Preschool build a website as they've not had one before and see this as a useful contact with a more professional 'front' than their current Facebook page. I'm getting on well, but I'd like to create an area where parents can download useful information like potty training, speech concerns etc. Have any of you wonderful people already done this, I need not reinvent the wheel if so! Please can you suggest some good links for me? Very many thanks

Me again, Birmingham Council are paying all settings £4.03 for 3/4 yr olds. Sounds fab but we've got to pay all staff their version of the living wage of £7.85 as a minimum. Dont know when from yet though. So, I'm working out the wages and I think I've messed up somewhere. Pretty sure we've been paying staff 4.6 weeks holiday pay but I just read its 5.6. And I have no idea how we've worked out the part time staff, if at all! Can you lovely lot tell me simply how you work out your salaries please? I cant ask the lad/imbecile who does our wages because he's clueless. Honestly he get the managerto phone him 3, 4, 5 times to check the wages are right and h…

Confused with all the legislation that has been talked about and what actually is 'real' so to speak When we emply someone now do they HAVE to have English & Maths at level C or above? Or is this requirement if you want to take a Early Years course? Have had a great volunteer who would be perfect for a job and although she is absolutely fine with her English & Maths and does have level 3 she just doesn't have 'the grades', she is a more 'mature' person.

Hello. I would really appreciate some advice from settings that take 1yr olds. We currently take 2-5yr olds but would like to take on 1-2yr olds. I read in the EYFS that you need a separate room for younger children. Can you divide a larger room or does anyone have 1's and 2's mixing occasionally with a separate area for the 1's to play and sleep? Thank you!
