I have asked on here before about how long we should keep documents such as Child registration forms, funding forms, daily attendance registers, accident and incident books, medication administered forms, etc etc. I have tried to find it using search on here but can't see it anywhere. There was a sheet with all the information on that I need. I am in the mood to sort out the first of many filing cabinet drawers !! Obviously I don't want to shred things that I must keep. Can someone help find the information for me please ASAP, as my "sorting out" mood won't last long !!!!! Many thanks V

I have been told that as the Nursery teacher I have to do supervisions for each of my three early years educators from now on, every term. Do other Nursery teachers do these? I also have 38 children who I am responsible for and am RE lead. And I only work 0.6 as we are mornings only Nursery. My workload is ridiculous! Am I alone or are we all struggling to cope? x

For any settings that provide sun cream themselves. Can you share which brand you use, where you get it from, what is the cost?

We have a parent who has been paying us monthly with childcare vouchers, their circumstances have changed and they have withdrawn their child from us. As a result they are in credit, however, I have told the parent that we are not permitted to refund to the parent where payment has been made by vouchers because they are purchased before NI & Tax and that he will have to contact his voucher provider to discuss the situation. He is not very happy with me! Has anyone had this situation before and were you able to send a refund to the voucher company? The parent paid a small amount by cheque when they first started, so I can return that amount, but it would s…

I had a phone call today from someone conducting surveys for the D of E, confirming my details and asking a few questions about what sort of day care i provide as they are sending me a questionnaire to complete, (what sort of day care depends on which questionnaire they send out). I asked if this was linked to the 30 hours and they said yes. I have completed very survey i can find and said on them that i was willing to participate further so maybe it's because of this, just wondered if anyone else had received the call?

Got the call this afternoon, last one was December 2011 so we knew it would be any day. I'm not sure whether to be glad or not that they're coming during a school holiday so our numbers will be around 24 instead of 60

We have been told this morning by a nursery manager that D+G resources have closed down. They have published a Spring 2016 catalogue - but you won't get anything from it - the nursery manager has tried to buy items and has had money debited but has not received resources. Some Google researching has shown that they are 'Permanently closed' - so be careful. You should be able to get the money back if you paid on a card. I've put the details below so you can be sure you get rid of the correct catalogue. D & G Educational Ltd Education Address: Victoria Court, Colliers Way, Clayton West, Huddersfield HD8 9TR

I was wondering how you all handle Health and Safety risk assessments etc and training for H & S and Fire? Our our H & S officer and our Fire Officer has left and no-body is particularly keen to take on either role. I'm the administrator and not based in the setting, so can't really take on these roles and I want to be able to re-assure staff about what needs to be done so that someone will volunteer to take on the role! I always worry if our training is sufficient and what the H & S/Fire person should be doing and when and if we are getting it right! What do you do to cover these requirements? Who is your H & S and Fire person? We did ha…

Sorry to interrupt an Easter weekend - but I have something I need help with! I started a thread a few weeks back re changes to the way the LEA are paying Funding. (and was royally admonished for it)!!! Well we have a reprieve - for the Summer Term 16 - (staying the same), but from Autumn we shall no longer receice funding within the term but will be spread over a longer period........complicated but basically means I will have to change the way I have always paid wages - within term time plus hol pay end of Summer term. What I need to know - what is the best way to stretch pay + hol pay? I need to keep it tight in the Autumn term as this is when I will not …

Just wondering if any one can suggest how to edit a child's year of birth. I have tried the obvious by going into manage children but so far this will only allow me to change the date not the month or year.
