Does anyone have a care plan for looked after children? We adopted the pla policy re looked after children, and it in it states: At the start of a placement there is a professionals meeting to determine the objectives of the placement and draw up a care plan that incorporates the child’s learning needs. This plan is reviewed after two weeks, six weeks and three months. Thereafter at three to six monthly intervals. The care plan needs to consider issues for the child such as: their emotional needs and how they are to be met; how any emotional issues and problems that affect behaviour are to be managed; their sense of self, culture, language(s) and identity – and h…

I know there is a huge post about this but I needed this to be fresh and answered as soon as possible. I have opened the document but when I get down to section E it finishes. The last question I can read is about the no images person comp!eting the sef or not after that it stops. Is this right? I was expecting loads more questions. Please help, I need to know if it's my computer messing it up or not.

We are thinking of updating our paperwork and would really like to see an example of a recent parental contract to compare to our own as we feel it is too simple.

I was wondering if everyone in your setting has their paediatric first aid certificate including bank staff and volunteers, or just the permanent staff?

Hi All How long would you expect your staff to spend outside? At the moment the longest mine spend outside is 1 hour 10 minutes. But there is 2 outside and they can come in to drink their tea, go to the loo, get what they need. This leaves 2 inside. After circle time the inside 2 go out. Staff are complaining that it is too long.

This is the first time I've asked for advice on here so very much hoping all you lovely people have some thoughts on this one! This could become very long - I will do my best to keep it brief! We have child (39 mths) who is on the go constantly. Mum describes him as always going at 100 miles an hour. I would describe him as in a permanent state of panic, outrage & indignation. He needs to do everything all the time. Take part in every activity that is happening, do every job that needs doing, solve every problem that needs solving. If a child does something he believes is wrong he has begun to take matters Into his own hands by pushing, hitting or kicking. He will sho…

Good morning if anyone can help we are at our wits end, we have a girl who is nearly 4, there are a number of issues she is not clean, has a number of communication problems as well as social issues and has now resorted to biting other children. I have sent her for referrals too speech and language they came back with theres nothing wrong, parents are in denial despite us working very closely with them. It is really evident that there is something quite complex going on. we have been tracking her closely and it is evident that she cannot express herself and resorts to biting over space and ownership. this morning she has bit another child s cheek so badly…
