Hi, We are looking into signing up to tapestry, it is one of those things that looks to good to be true. Having looked into the different packages out there. Most do what tapestry does but the costs are so much higher, It makes me think that maybe there is something I am not getting. I guess my questions are: Is it as good as it seems? Apart from your annual payment are there any other costs? Thanks in advance

Can I ask about your fee's policy. We currently allow parents to pay half termly. This usually means that the last week of term I am sending out reminders and getting a bit twitchy about getting the money in. Inevitably there is always one family who still make me wait until after the half term I am thinking of changing our policy so that this does not happen. Would be interested in finding out what other pre-school settings do?

Hi, Im after some advice on the whole appraisals, supervision and mentoring tasks. Currently we do appraisals once a year, we are doing supervisions every month at the moment after negative feedback from ofsted. I was also told that some staff need mentoring. How do others show that mentoring has taken place- is it just from the supervisions or has somebody got a template they use to show how, when and why the staff members has been mentored. Many Thanks

Hello, Can I ask where groups store their laptops overnight? Do you lock them in a cupboard or a filing cabinet? Our new manager would like to buy a safe as she thinks that a locked cabinet is not secure enough. It would be really helpful to know if we need to consider safer storage. Thank you!

We do not allow parents to only book a half day session (3 hours) in a week. We ask that they book a whole day or two halves as a minimum. This is mostly because we find that these parents are usually just using us to get their child experience of the school (we are on their site) and when we took children for half days in the past they always struggle to settle as they are so used to the settings that they go to for the rest of the week. They find it hard to make friends as the children who come to us more know each other better. We often had behavioural problems (shyness or aggression) because of both these things. There is no reduction in the paper work etc for a chil…

Hi am a manager at a committee run preschool, before and after school setting. The setting is situated on the school site, operates exceptionally well and is financially stable. However my concerns are what would happen should the school decide that they wanted to take over, who would have the power to make this decision and how would it affect the current staff and daily operation? Thanks in anticipation

Hi all in our school Nursery class we are moving into 'in the moment' planning. this way of working is very new to us but something we feel is the way forward. However, each year all teachers are formally observed in mathematics and literacy against the teaching standards. By planning in the moment I feel that the type of formal obs that are carried out are no longer suitable, indeed appropriate for this way of teaching. I understand that it is important for SLT to ensure that teaching standards are being met. I need to come up with a way/proforma that SLT can still get what they need whilst appreciating what is best practice in Nursery. I wondered if anyone else has t…
