Hi, Does anyone use an 'app' to keep a daily register of attendance for children? I just want something really simple - arrival time/leave time, sick, holiday - that's about it! I'm just about to start looking but thought if any of you lovely people already use one that you would recommend... Thanks!

Co-managing

Has anyone ever successfully had co-managers in their setting? To cut a long story short, I'm having a tough time at home and I'm not coping well with the workload or the feeling of being totally responsible at work. I have asked my (fab) deputy if she wants to swap roles, but she's not completely confident as she's never managed before this role, which she only began in September. Now I'm wondering if we could co-manage, so at least I could share the responsibility and the workload, and she wouldn't feel too out of her depth. I know it would also be hard for me to step back completely from being manager. Then, if things are no better for me in September and I do …

Business rates relief?

Has anyone successfully got a reduction in their business rates following the attached which was sent to all local authorities at the start of the year? https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/395333/BRIL_1__-_2015__-__General_-_14_Jan.pdf It's taken several months to get my local authority to consider it and they have finally responded with a flat "no", despite the fact that over 70% of our children are from one of the most deprived areas in the county.

I am thinking about installing an interactive whiteboard in our setting but really don't know where to start. Do other preschools use them and are they worth the costs? Can anyone recommend a company who can help?

Can anyone tell me if their admissions policy includes something about how many sessions you give existing children as opposed to new ones? This is causing troubles as we are very full this year and our policy seems to be more about admitting new children. The problem has arisen because we do not agree to keep sessions for 3 year olds to the disadvantage of 2 year olds but it doesn't say anything about that in our policy and I am not sure what it could say about that. Once a child is with us, what responsibility do we have to give parents what they want, particularly if it is a case of them changing their minds and wanting something different

Hi Guys, This seems a really odd question but i was wondering where everyone ordered there aprons/ gloves from from snack and nappy changing? . I've ordered from a few different suppliers since we opened in feb but i've found some of the isposable ones on a roll are really thin (so you get breakages) and others are really expensive.

Hi everyone I am working in a school based nursery where we currently have 26 AM and 26 PM children. Due to the looming legislation of offering 30 hours childcare a week, we are looking to extend our nursery to incorporate 52 full time children, We are very lucky in that we have the space to do this but obviously lots of other things to think about. What would be the ratio? 1:13 if we include teachers with QTS? How do other nurseries manage lunch times? What is the staff ratio for this? Has anyone had experience of doubling the size of their nursery? Is anyone in the London area that would be happy for me to visit and discuss?! Thank you Julia
