re uniform....?? when we opened our Nursery 11 years ago, staff contracts read black TROUSERS, no jeans, supplied tops,no short short shorts.....no flip flops for safety reasons.. ..and still do,even for new staff. But since last year the age range has changed....now from 19...to 64...me being 64....but now the youngest is wearing leggings...which I hate unless your legs are a nice shape... . and just this week 2 members of staff have started to wear tight black jeans.....is it me being a prude.....since my legs would not look good in leggings...what do u all do for uniform....appreciate all your comments xx

Hi We have been going through some reflective practice and feel we do not offer parents ways to support their Child's learning at home. I wondered what you do? We have a general leaflet in our parent pack on the eyfs but I was looking at offering more specific ideas? Is this advisable and can anyone offer any suggestions. Thanks

Hi We have a Muslim staff member that used to pray during her lunch break (which raised no concerns or issues) but she has now told us that at various times of the year the prayer times change so she will need to pray during her work hours (around 1500-1600). This means that we have to potentially find alternative cover while she prays. Also, she prays in the baby cot room whilst some babies are sleeping, but children from the adjoining room see her praying and there may be a possibility that they tell their parents and we may be quizzed over this. This is clearly a sensitive issue and we want to be as accommodating as possible. Has any other nursery has had a re…

Hi all We have finally found a new building to move to in September. We are hoping this will attract more children as its a lot more local. I have sent a eyo and ey2 form to ofsted and told the man at the church that we would like to move there. I have also told the 5 parents that have their child's names down for September. What else do I need to do? I am worried we are not going to be ofsted registered in time as I only submitted the forms on Friday and although she said we would be it depends on any hold ups. We have to completely revamp the garden as this is the current state of it! Any advice is most welcome :1b

Hello Just thinking ahead to September....and wondering how to promote fund raising and budgeting ideas. However I am considering of asking parents for a small regular donation. Are there any preschool settings out there who ask for voluntary contributions towards snacks, art resources and extras like cooking? How much do you ask for and are parents willing to pay? I'm considering a minimal amount like £5 - £10 every small term. That is once their children are funded as I feel every little helps and I would rather be using our fundraised money which isn't always that much towards new equipment and replacing or updating play items. I would be interested to…

Hello, We are going to be sending out parent questionnaires this week as an end of year thing. I was wondering if any settings had examples of questionnaires or questions they would normally use? We are a new setting and we sent out a questionnaire at the start of the year to see how parents felt their children had settled in but was wondering if anyone could help with an end of year questionnaire. Thank you :1b
