Hi, does anybody give their parents an exit questionaire when children leave your setting that you would be happy to share. Also do you feel these help improve your setting? I'm just doing our sef and feel this may be a beneficial tool. Thanks all

Hi all I am an experienced EYFS teacher and my school are opening a nursery next year. My head is in charge of all the policies, regulations, staffing recruitment, OFSTED stuff etc so I don't need to worry about that so much. However my role is to get my head around the day to day running and whilst I have some ideas of procedures and what I may need to do I am also new to this. Could any of you very kind people point me in the direction of good reading materials or resources to support me with this...or tried and tested advice, which is always helpful. Basically I need to be thinking about things like... How do you manage ensuring all children have covered the cu…

Preschool in a school?

If a preschool comes into school and under the school governing body would that actually make it a nursery and therefore have the need to be run by a teacher? What if it came into the school but registered separately but still under the governing body? Anyone in this situation? Thanks

Work experience DBS checks

I have a couple of students who are finishing school early (16 and 18 years old) and would like to spend a couple of sessions with us basically as they have time on their hands. Am I right in thinking that as long as they are not left unattended with the children then I don't have to go through the DBS process? I know that as volunteers I can get them checked for free, but by the time the checks are done their stint with us will be over! Would appreciate thoughts please!! Sometimes I think it's so easy to tie yourself up in knots over these things!!! Thanks in anticipation

Apologies all, this is a moan. l had an inspection 2 weeks ago, and to make matters worse l was on holiday and it was a malicious allegation by a staff that left, My DM called me and informed me of the inspection spoke with the inspector and informed her of the staff l suspected, because it sounded like something she would say. She was a shxt stirrer for want of a better word (excuse me). She interviewed the staff checked records and found nothing. But obviously gave actions over little things to justify her coming, we had full inspection last year and got a good with no actions. When l got back from holidays l called a parent who had left and inquired about chq …

Hello all, I just need a little advice:- would a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care count towards a Level 3 practitioner? I will be conducting interviews shortly and one applicant is due to complete their level 3 having already completed a level 2 in health and social care. Would I regard her as qualified or unqualified and therefore will I need to make it clear I expect her to complete a Level 3 in childcare as part of her CPD? Many thanks for any advice you have.
