IN these times of stress we all need a littel 'AAH momnet' thought i would share mine from yesterday. We have one of our little ones off (because they live with elderly relatives) She made a picture for a friend at pre-school yesterday and shared it with us on tapestry, I linked the other child in to the ob sent from mum and sent it to both, The friends Mum posted back last night that "that was absolutley the best thing that has happened in my day !" ...this has also started me thinking about how i can use tapestry to support my families if they are not at pre-school. Will you be doing anything for them (apart from paperwork!!!) if you are…

We have a parent who has not paid their bill.We have now stopped her child using our service (after school club) but she still owes us quite a lot of money. I am going to ring Lawcall on monday but wondered of any of you have dealt with this and how you went about it. We don't normally have to chase but i know this one is different!!!

Does anyone know if there is an amount of time we must keep signing in/out books (When parent drops or picks child) and also the daily register? Have 3 years worth that are collecting dust.

Hi Please don't shoot me, I should probably know this! If the Manager is off sick long term, can a qualified member of staff be acting leader 1. without informing ofsted 2. needing ey2/ey3. Also can she be acting leader if said manager resigns whilst they advertise for replacement, again would ofsted need to be informed, ey2/3 required? Many thanks.

How do you all evaluate the training your staff have done? I have seen on a recent inspection report in our area that they were pulled up for not doing this even though they had provided a lot of training for the staff. My staff have done a lot of online training but how would I go about evaluating the impact of this? any ideas welcome

Afternoon All, I am looking to run a staff inset day on Child Protection (rather than keeping sending everyone individually). Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good company that can come to the nursery setting and run basic child protection training (all staff have been on before so more of a refresher). Was looking for the training to include prevent (which staff have also done online), FGM, terror, lockdown etc as well as covering safeguarding for the DSL (which I would also have my senior staff attend - more people who understand the better). Many thanks. Emmax

Hi, I have an interview soon for a headteacher's position at an Infant school soon. I am aware that the person who is currently the acting head has also got an interview. Ordinarily, this would not worry me but I have been told that she is doing a good job. Also, when the Chair of Governors was showing myself and another candidate around, he commented that he is happy with how things are and he doesn't want change (They have also recently had OFSTED and she has lead them through this well I believe.) Whilst I know that it is likely that she will get the job (and I know it is probably well deserved.) I just wondered if anyone had any suggest…
