Hi there, This is my first post here, I am currently a reception teacher looking for a change! My degree specialised in early years. I miss the true EYFS experience and am hoping to get stuck into a nursery. I have been offered an interview for head of early years practice in a private nursery, they have both a nursery manager and head of early years practice in the setting. Has anybody any interview advice/tips? I am really excited about the change and know the EYFS is where my heart is. Thanks Kate x

Hi Was just wondering if anyone had encountered this problem. Our SENDCO has just told us she is pregnant and will be taking time off, approximately 8 months. She will be available for advice etc, but do we need to employ a SENDCO or train someone else in the interim to cover maternity leave? Many thanks for your help

Hi All, I am the manager of a village preschool and currently have 6 key children. As you can all understand being a manager has a lot of responsibility and a heavy work load. Do any other managers on here have key children? Do you know if their are any guidelines saying weather a manager should or should not have key children? Any help on this matter would be highly appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

I had a situation at the beginning of term, where a child didn't have wipes and did a poo very close to going home. We didn't change child and Mum went mad. Hindsight a great thing, but we learnt our lesson, new policy in place and it wont happen again. I posted on here, and general feedback was.... What were you thinking! Said Mum said she would destroy us, let everyone know and so far she is doing a great job! 2 parents have withdrawn their children. One said their child was happy with us, the other gave no reason. Tonight I was forwarded a snapshot of a facebook page, where 2 parents were laughing about their children having diarrhoea and that playgroup wou…

I am trying to manage absence due to illness and other reasons a bit more effectively. I have a Self-certification form for absence due to illness, but I'm wondering about how to go about recording absence for other reasons, eg staff's children are ill? What does everyone else do?
