hi, My collegue and i are conducting a role play workshop for other teachers in our group. i work overseas in a large preschool group of Several schools. Role play is not happening in most of the other schools and we are trying to inspire people and show them how easy role play is. Half way through the activity we are planning to separate everyone into three groups, give them 2 resourses that they must use along with anything else they can find in the school. The aim is to show that a role play area can be set up in 5mins with things that are available in our schools to be used in the classroom for a day. we will be talking separatly about main role play areas to…

Hello again, I'm thinking about doing something a little different over the summer holidays which will benefit me mentally and also enhance my teaching skills in the area of drama. I have worked with a theatre group but im looking at developing my knowledge in drama. I am wondering if anyone knows where i may begin to search for this type of course?, i have googled it and nothing suitable has come up. I am hoping there maybe a 3-5 day course. I hope someone can point me in the right direction! Thanks for reading Lyd :1

Drama Ideas For Reception
by Guest- 9 replies

Last year my Reception class had a drama teacher for 30 mins each week, this year I have to do it. In the class in relation to books I always do hot seating and act them out. I am trying to work out my drama planning and am thinking of relating it to Nursery Rymes. Does anyone have any ideas relating to this and to warm up games and working collaboratively. I know that my new class are quite challenging. Can you recommend any books to help me with this, thank you.

Help With Toys Topic Roleplay
by Guest- 7 replies

Hello everyone, not long until Christmas. Am just thinking about planning for next term and am a bit stuck! Am doing the topic of 'moving toys' with my reception class, got lots of ideas for activities but a bit stuck on ideas for role play area. The year one teacher is doing a 1950's topic where she looks at old toys and so is having a toyshop as her roleplay, which would have been perfect for my class but we can't have the same apparently! So has anyone got any other ideas?
