Hi I am starting in Year 2 in September after being in Reception. I am going to carry on the continuous provision so I am fine with the whole set up of the classroom the running of it but I am currently trying to find a great numeracy planning sheet that is up todate with the new framework and fits in with my Year 2 class regarding a continuous provision column. But any ideas would be great. Has anyone a plan they can share with me? Many thanks

Hi, Wondered if anyone could give some tips and suggestions to pass on to my year 2 friends as to what the process for moderation is. They have just found out they are going to be moderated and I want to be supportive but do not really know the process. I was wondering if anyone had been moderated recently and if there were any tips, ideas of the evidence presented ..... Thanks, I know they will be grateful.

Hi I am moving to year 2 in September and have found this forum great for my foundation practise, sharing ideas and practise. There must be more people out there like me who now find themselves in KS 1. I thought perhaps I could give this forum a bit of a boost. I am setting up a year 2 class with a FS ethos in September. I am planning on having a theme curriculum centred around challenges that can be completed in different areas with the classroom depending on the child's interests and skills. From next term, my class (YR) is merging with the Y1/2 class and I'm looking for some practical help with bringing FS ideas into the whole class while still challenging the Y1 and Y2 children. Can anyone help please? The new Head is very supportive of the principle, but needs to be convinced (as do the parents) that the older children won't 'suffer' if I introduce CP for the whole class. I am working in Y2 after having been in FS for a few years. I am trying to bring good FS practice into Y2 and would appreciate any comments. This is what I have done so far: set up my classroom with 2 'group tables' for myself and my TA to work at and divided the rest of the classroom into FS style learning areas - role play, writing, maths, creative, book corner, construction etc organised my class into 4 groups so at any one time 2 groups are adult led and 2 groups are making their own choices about their learning organised the curriculum so that literacy and all other subjects except maths (which is a bit separate) are taught through a topic I would…

Has anyone got any exciting, creative ideas I can do for Florence Nightingale? I want to bring a more FS approach to Year 2, but am struggling with this topic. Hi there, really getting really excited about our new year 1 / 2 unit, to be run with FS ethos. We have ordered new furniture and having walls taken down. Cant wait for sept!! However, currently putting together some long term plans for areas of prov, based on those that I use in foundation stage. Putting, key objectives on ( ElG's- Y2 objectives), resources to enable learning, role of adult e.g. ( key questions, vocab etc) and links to other areas of curriculum. Just wondering if anyone a little further down the line than us and is willing to share their continuous prov planning. Unfortunately the new year one teacher is going to be using all of the topics that I have covered this year (dinosaurs, pirates, fairytales, minibeasts and Africa) so I can't do them again! Hi Just in case anyone interested have started using a FS style organisation in year 2. We have had to manage the access to outside as we don't have a door in our classroom but other than that going well. It has made us realise how in the past we have skilled the children in FS to think for themselves, plan, organise their learning time and then undone all that work in year 1. I had previoulsy taught the my current year 2's as FS and was suprrised at how many skills I had to reteach them.."What shall we do now?" is a question I keep getting, they never said that in FS? Anyone else on the same journey would love to know how it is going. Jay
