How does everyone keep and store documents/information of children and staff who have left the setting. Do you keep a paper copy or save them electronically?

Hi everyone I am starting to carve out a policy and procedure for reopening. Just wondering how you are getting on with your policies? My mind has turned to jelly through overthinking and little sleep lol. Wondering if any has a policy for their setting they might be willing to share. Thank you 🙂

HI everyone, is it just me or is anyone else confused after the PM speech tonight. He said those who cannot work from home, should go to work now. Does that include EY staff? They can't work from home, but we don't have enough children. There has also been no reference to daycare at all, just reception classes from June at the earliest. So how can I possibly plan ahead? Aarghhh!

Hi everyone, hope you are managing to keep healthy and smiling in these strange times. As many of you, I am trying to keep in touch with our families who are not allowed to attend at the moment. As part of this we would like to start doing video calls using apps like zoom etc. Is anyone else doing this already? And if so would be happy to share their Safe video conferencing policy with us? Most of our staff have been furloughed as we only have 3-4 children in. They would like to contact the children from home, but I'm sure that goes against SG policy. I'm thinking we should only do this from work, on work equipment with another person around. What do others thin…

Hi, I was hoping someone could help. Is the Statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, that was Published: 3 March 2017 Effective: 3 April 2017, the most relevant guidance? I have been told by a colleague that the ratio for 2 year olds is 1:6, but I believe that it is 1:4, I was just trying to find out if this was still the case, or if I have missed an update to the ratios. They are talking about having 'older 2year olds' - but I still think they are counted in the 1:4 ratio of 2 year olds, until they are actually 3. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi I just wanted to double check how often we should be renewing food hygiene level 2. Currently we are updating every 3 years. However some people seem to think it’s 2 years and some are saying you don’t need to renew at all. We provide fruit and snack, no hot meals. The children bring their own lunches. Thanks in advance!

Hi can I ask what people's views are on accepting children that have had no vaccinations? Does anyone know what Ofsted's view is on this?

Can I please ask if you ask parents to sign their children in in the morning and out at the end of the day? Staff sign our children in with times of arrival and departure and I wonder what purpose there is of parents signing their children as well? I'm very interested to see what other settings do? thank you
