Possible Change In Admission Policy

As you may know from my other posts, things at the sessional pre-school where I work have been a bit fraught of late! It has now been suggested by the boss that we could: Alter the age of admission from 2years 9 months to 3 years - reason - to have less children in nappies and less fee paying children (a few non payers at the moment) as well as giving them an extra 3 months 'growth'. We are getting a rabbit for the nursery but before we do I need to write an 'animal' policy. Does anybody have one I could take a look at. I have informed parents that we are getting a rabbit, asking for their permission for handling the rabbit by their children etc. should I be doing anything else?

I have been observing the set up in my new job this week and I have noticed that at snack time and during the lunch club, the children are not allowed to talk to each other. Once the children were all seated today at lunch time, I pulled up a chair and sat with them, talking to them about their sandwiches and foods they like. It was lovely because obviously I'm getting used to them and getting to know all about them. However, sitting with the children got me an odd look from the deputy and she told the children they had to stop talking. I immediately felt silly, removed my chair and went and sat away from them. The deputy then mentioned that the children are not allow…

Does anyone have an Aim or Statement of Intent for their Settling-In Policy. I know I could think one up if I thought about it, but am feeling lazy and uninspirational! I don't want it to be long - any ideas?
