Physical Restraint Policy

Hi Does anyone have a Physical Restraint Policy I could look at please? We've just re-started our Quality Assurance (after previous manager left unexpectedly), and realised we haven't got one. I've Googled but only found ones for Care Homes and it doesn't really cover 2-4 year olds. I've been thrown in the deep end as Manager of a Playgroup and just started the NVQ4 CCLD too. Paperwork is in, Social life is out Thanks for your help. Karen

Record Keeping

Can anyone shed light on what they have in their setting? What records are kept in the managers office that may be required by OFSTED apart from the obvious like operational plan, policies and procedures? My manager has left and there must be 40-50 files on the shelves that she set up but what are actually required to make the office not look like a library. There is so much I do not know where to start and do not want to throw out in case they are needed!!! Help

Had A Really Bad Day

Well, each time I go to work, I hate it a little bit more. I thought I would love working there, as the children were so well behaved, generally just lovely children which is something I'm not overly used to and the adults appeared supportive and as if they worked as a team. Clearly not. I am so mad, I could quite cheerfully walk out of there, not bother with the FD and go and sit in Tescos for better money and less grief! The area SENCo came in today, so my supervisor was busy meeting with her. I didn't have a problem with that because I know it needs to be done. We have quite a few children in the setting with SEN. So she was busy there, whilst the rest of us (3…

I am an NQT working in a nursery unit attached to a primary school. Tomorrow we have a staff meeting to discuss the behaviour policy as we have a new head and she wants to make sure we are all singing from the same sheet. We have been asked to read the current policy and jot down any ideas for change. I have noticed that there is no reference made to how proceedures may be different for children in the foundation stage. Do you think this is necessary? And if so could you give me some idea of key points you would expect to see? I am the only teacher in school with Foundation stage trainning and I want to make sure I fly the flag high, so to speak!! Thanks for you help …

Policies Separate From Procedures

Re: the article about this in last week's Nursery World, I wondered whether anyone has theirs separate from each other. I've been trying to reorganise ours, but for some policies I'm finding it quite tricky. The policies themselves don't seem to say very much!I just wondered if anyone who does theirs this way was prepared to post an example or two.

Collecting Fees
by Guest- 14 replies

Hi I was just curious how other people go about collecting fees, parents buying sweatshirts, etc...... I seem to spend most of my morning writing receipts for parents which means we are an adult down and childrens care does suffer (45 mins this morning). I've been to the committee to ask for a committee member to be available to collect money/ write receipts at the start and end of a session but this never seems to happen. We do have an administrator but she says she isn't available, what do other settings do?
