Home Visit Questionnaire
by Guest- 4 replies

hi i'm busy getting ready for home visiting our new set of children in September - last year I found a really good questionnaire on here for giving to new parents but I can't find it now! It was really detailed, asking questions such as 'what do you want us to do if your child is upset on the first day?' etc. I'd be really grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks Janine x

I am just finishing off our QA and need to put in place a transfer/transition policy or statement-this would be from pre-school/nursery to nursery/school. I was wondering if anybody had one of these and what needs to go into it? Thank you in anticipation. Linda

Had A Bad Day!
by Guest- 19 replies

Hi Guys! I've had a bad day & wanted to talk to you about a particular aspect of it. The day began with me losing my nursery keys... I have just found them at home. Phew! What a relief! Various other annoying bits, but the main thing resulted from a box of chocolates. One of our Asisn children came in today with a box of Heros as it's his last day in nursery (they're off to India for a very long holiday before he starts school). The chocs were meant for the adults and children, so at the end of the session I stood in the exit with the chocs, calling 3 or 4 children at a time as I saw their parents to collect them. As they left, they chose a sweet. Before the last …

Snack Bar
by Guest- 8 replies

I just wanted to post that we have changed our snack routine from all children having snack together at a certain time to having a 'snack bar'! Most of us (including myself) were really not keen to do this, for reasons now I cant remember, but having exhausted all other ways and means of doing both registration and snack time we have started it this week and it is BRILLIANT!!! Much much calmer, no tantrums, not so much clearing up and less stressed staff!!! We now have free play for an hour and a half instead of an hour. There is now no need to take the children into another room so that the snack tables could be prepared etc. Anyway, I just wanted to mention…

Do You Have Two Sets Of Policies?
by Guest- 11 replies

Hi After reading one of the policy posts, I wondered wether anyone else has two sets of policies. When I started out I did two sets, one aimed at parents and one aimed at my staff, like guidelines on how to meet the parents policy type thing. They are similar, just worded differently. There are of course a few that only apply to staff and a few which only apply to parents. Does anyone else do this or do you all have just the one set? Thanks Nic
