Hi everyone I am going to start money in numeracy next week. We haven't covered this yet. Has anyone got any fun ideas about how I can introduce money for the numeracy teaching input and teacher led activities. I really need some new and exciting ideas as I am an NQT and have not covered this before. Our role play is a chinese restaurant so maybe I could link it in quite nicely, Any ideas would be great!? Thanks

Just when I thought I was winding down for Christmas, I arrived to this query this morning... Ofsted have requested that a provider has a 'prior injury' form to run alongside incident forms and Child Protection procedures. The idea being that parents report any injury that may have occured at home that may have an impact on the child's behaviour or may raise concerns at nursery i.e. bumped head the previous night and had to go to A&E, big bruise on leg as child fell off bike etc. It can also be used by staff to record injuries that are noticed and have not occured at nursery (possibly leading to CP issue) Does anyone have this in place? Also, there appe…

Hi everyone Has anyone any thoughts on "changing" in a nursery class. Are we allowed to change a child who has soiled? Do you call parents and get them to come in and do it? What if you can't get hold of parents? Any help on guidelines/policies would be very much appreciated!

hi all, quick question - we have a difficulty fund for families who struggle with paying fees. this money had been donated by local charities for this purpose only and they are kept in a seperate account. its not been used for ages, and now we have had a request from a new family in the village. a criteria was set, but that was years ago and no one knows where this went. so, my qustion. what would be classed as difficulty. i always felt it should be used for a CHILD in difficulty, who would benefit from being in a setting rather than an unstable home environment. the family in question have a 2 year old, mum works and dad is main carer and older child at …

Does any of you knowledgeables know how a school would go about setting up a nursery and/ or a foundation stage unit? We have a struggling pre school within the school grounds that has a long waiting list but serious staffing, building and financial issues. Does anyone know how if we wanted the school could start a nursery. Before I hear all you pre school staff shouting at me about the value of pre schools, as a school we do, we, the LEA advisory team and Pre School support are supporting physically and emotionally and organisationally,as much as possible. This question is purely a fact finding in the if all the staff were to leave or the pre school was closed.

Hi Was wondering if you good people would mind sharing your intitial child profiles. Ours badly needs updating/improving and I knew just the place to come!! It is something parents complete when their child first starts pre-school and tells us a bit about the child (or not in our case), likes/dislikes, what they can or can't do, any special fears etc. This is separate to our registration form with contact details etc. Hope you can help. Many thanks Deb
