Help With Coshh Please! 1 2
by Guest- 45 replies

Hi there I just wonder if anyone has a list of the things they have to have a Coshh form on. I know all the cleaning equipment needs one, but what about things like shaving foam, cornflower, cooking ingredients, clay or playdough? Also, we have been told that we need a whistle blowing policy. Can anyone give me any ideas on what this is and an example policy please!

Major overhaul required I think, I have to admit to not having been quite as 'on top' of these as I should be, so it's a mammoth task Soooo .... how do you store your 1000's of policies - all in one folder? When you are saving them on your computer do you a) have a document per policy b) have one huge document so you can search for key words? ANY help and advice to make this task more bearable very very welcome

Hi! I've read through all the posts I can find about ratios and hope I am not bringing up an old chestnut! With regard to ratios...I have convinced my Head that 2 year olds are 2 year olds no matter whether they are 'rising 3' or not. However, we are now debating something else...We have mixed age range rooms... Does a practitioner who is counted in the 1:4 ratio for 2 year olds when only 3 of the two year olds are in school have 'space' in her quota to be used in the 1:8 ratios for some of the 3-4 year olds? And how much 'space' does she have?????????? Does that make sense? I am not comfortable with this. Want to argue my corner further. Value your thoughts.

Fire Evacuation Procedure
by Guest- 21 replies

Does anyone have a copy of their emergency evacuation procedure that they would be willing to share? I mean something that is put up on the wall? Or if not a copy could you tell me what yours includes? (We look after children aged 0 to 5 in the same room). Also my setting has introduced a red rope that all the children have to hold on to before they can go outside every day - do other people do this? If you have a rope do you allocate staff to then hold the front and back of the rope, with others checking the building etc? The rope is a bit of a pain really to do everyday although I suppose good practice if there was a fire.

by Guest- 40 replies

Hi, Have any of you kind people in early years land have a written 'job description' for the role of the SENCO? This is a role that I feel could be carried out more effectively, so my starting point would be to have a written description to work from! Also, are any managers the SENCO?? Many thanks

Hi All, Just wondered what you include on your registration forms? At my registration visit it was suggested that I include a little more, and have a look at some others! Any top tips? Many thanks xx
