I need help re-doing our mobile phone policy We have no issues with nursery but we also operate 4 after school clubs, 2 breakfast clubs and a holiday club in different settings, all of which have a mobile phone as a point of contact for parents. This means several issues arise staff need to have the phones on them whilst in club to accept any bookings/cancellations/queries these phones also need to be taken home for the above reason. We know we need to have a policy regarding phones but nowhere in the EYFS does it tell you what the policy should be please help!!!

We are taking a mother to court for non payment of notice period (4 weeks). Long story short - we were the 4th setting the child had attended and mum withdrew him from every one due to 'inadequate care.' This mum never stopped complaining to us from the day her son set foot through the door (and did the same at the other settings) We made the decision to pursue her for non payment (as per our policy) and she is now counter claiming using sub standard care as her excuse for not paying. We have plenty of evidence that this was not the case and so feel confident in going to court . Has anyone on here done the same and can tell me what we may experience during the hearing?

Hi wise ones, i have searched but am unable to locate a discussion recently regarding this condition. We have just been notified of a child joining us in September. We have arranged a home visit and organising a health practitioner to also be there to advise us and complete a care plan. Can anyone suggest useful websites, practical do's and don'ts. Thank you in anticipation of any replies.

i am wondering if anybody would be so kind enough to help me. i have recently taken over a nursery as manager, but unfortunately i have a lot of work to do before sept. at the moment i am reviewing the induction process. i was thinking apart frrom the initial first day induction making it spread over the first four weeks of employment, as i feel it is impossible to expect a person to remember all the valid important information in one day. does anybody else feel this way? as anybody got a induction process procedure for me to look at. this would save me so much time, which i havnt got at the moment.

Hi all We have lots of policies around how staff are to behave and remain professional etc... but we have been advised to make a up a policy that covers how parents should behave towards staff, do any of you have something like this in place already? Putting it in context a little we have a family that are quite challenging to work with coming back into contact with the pre-school shortly. This family made an unfounded complaint about a member of staff, so we are trying to think ahead so we are 'safeguarded' working with this family. We have implemented a physical code of conduct clearly stating what is and is not acceptable physical contact, we have updated …

Need A Strapline/motto

We've been using the strapline 'Your child is our inspiration' on our prospectus but in view of our ethos of mess and outdoor play, and parental mutterings, we're trying to think of a new strapline that reflects our practice and sort of sets the scene for new parents thinking of sending their children to us. We are just trying to redesign our brochures and welcome packs so it seems a good time to rethink it.... can any of you wonderful people come up with suggestions cos we are drawing a blank? All we can come up with is some variation on dress for mess but that's not very inspiring! Please help!
