Reviewing Policies
by Guest- 7 replies

Hi Chaps, Does anyone know how often you have to formally review your policies? I have been told it's all of them every year but that seems ridiculous. With 35 policies you would need to review at least 3 or 4 at every committee meeting. In schools it is every 3 years. Can anyone put me straight as I want to do an over-view of when policies need reviewing. Thanks Sorry-very dull un-Christmassy question!

Have just read This A school has not only banned nativity photos but blacks out each Childs eyes (&most of their faces) in their year books. A bold move for this headteacher but interesting to see that her parents disagree...maybe common sense is still alive

I cannt find whistle blowing policies when doing a forum search I feel ours is only basic, a section in our child protection policy about what to do if we have concerns about a colleague but I wanted to compare what we have with what goes into a whistle blowing policy? I might be wrong but I suspect after recent news events that this will be something Ofsted might be looking for thanks

I'm after some kind of thing to give to parents about supplying nappies and wipes, my leader has asked me to find a 'policy' but I'm not sure it even needs to be that - just a letter stating that they have to provide these, etc. Can I nick one off anyone to save me the typing time? Ta

Hi guys, I was wondering when you fill out an incident report, the idea is usually that something needs to be put in place to prevent the incident re-occuring, so what do you do to record what you put in place? Does anyone have any examples before I reinvent the wheel? Thanks, Ali

Morning all. I am just wondering what you all do regards children who have been vomiting or had diarrhoea, regards the time period they should stay off. Our policy used to say 24 hours after the last bout of either, but following county guidelines we altered this to 48 hours after the outbreak of the norovirus or something similar!! It has stayed at 48 hours since, for staff and children. The question has been prompted by an incident on Friday where a Mum came in and told us that her son had been sick at 7.30pm THE NIGHT BEFORE! She said he was fine and it was just the milkshake. How could she know it was "just the milkshake" unless he had thrown up after d…
