Hi all I'm just wondering if anyone has an ICT policy I could adapt for use within my setting. We have a number of parents who are concerned about their child using the computer. I am going to put a copy of the recent John Siraj-Blatchford article 'Analysis: 'Computers benefit children'' into our newsletter but would like to back it up with a usage policy. Just need something to get me started really. Thanks Sal

Hi everyone, Bit of a strange question but i'm trying to prepare for my suitable person interview and came across a question from Ofsted regarding how do we talk to parents about keeping children safe at home. Off the top of my head i thought about leaflets and posters displayed in the setting, any other ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks Joanna

Have been given an action plan for our afterschool club which asks us to arrange meeting with the pre-school which runs on another part of our large site, and also "the" local infant school. We collect from 4 local schools, and the pre-school is a special needs playgroup. Not sure if I call a meeting, what I wold be asking for - and as I think that would be 5 separate meetings, so I would need to know what I am doing - and what for!!!!!

Hi all, I wonder if somebody could help me please? Staff have complained that their Backs, Knees and ankles are hurting them due to them having to sit on very low toddler sized chairs during the pre-school session. Now I want to be sympathetic, and try not to make comments like "Well dont sit down then!", but I accept that there are times that they have to sit down, bringing themselves down to childs level, enjoying activities alongside children etc. Do pre-schools have different level chairs for staff? We are a pack away setting that have access to community hall chairs, however these fold up and have a hole in the lower back area which I wouldn't be happy a…

I have bronchitis and think that its been either caused or exacerbated by the church adjacent to the preschool, having serious dry (and wet rot) or potentailly the fungacides used to treat it as the doors were left open to ventilate and that meant it blew into our shared corridor...I repeatedly told the committee we should close and had the church given them sight of any risk assessment...but they ignored me I have been told to not go back to work til well and/or work has finished but as this is one of many many issues, I am tempted to say my health is more important and quit!! But over all this is the fear at the health risk to the few children we still have atte…
