Information For Parent Helpers

I'm after some kind of simple sheet that we could give to parent helpers explaining the kind of things they can and can't do - what's useful, what they need to refer to staff to do (e.g. taking children to toilet). Nothing too complicated as when we do get a helper (rarely) we don't want to put them off! Can anyone save me typing something up myself? Also, any advice on encouraging them. I've put up a sheet but they are very slow to sign up. Thanks.

after some advice please. I am the leader on maternity leave and today have been informed that a child (boy) has been acting in way which concerns us. He has been trying to doing "humping" actions to girls and can be hostile if they say no or move away. He calls it "hipping" this child is 4 and has in past also been a concern (I was worried a year ago that he was seeing things he shouldn't as he was saying things like "have you come yet?" to others whilst making groaning noises - I spoke to mum who said she didn't know where it came from and maybe he had seen something on tv he shouldn't have, this stopped and only happened a few times, now it seems to be a regular thin…

Morning all! Couldn't quite make my mind up where to start this post so I hope here is OK. Some months ago I sent out a questionnaire to parents of nursery and reception children asking how they would feel/ their opinion etc on volunteering in the early years classses. The feedback was good with lots of interest, but with Christmas and the snow and a few personal issues and a degree to be doing I have woken up this morning with it on my mind, knowing the questionnaire was as far as I got! I want to build further links with parents and strengthen them........ starting with my end of school and including year one My thought is to host a meeting and invi…

we had an impromptu fire drill set off by the centre manager of the building to test us to see what we did!!!!, as we do these often we were out of the building and doing all the usual checks in a calm and collected way, i then went to investigate why it had been set off etc. anyway it suddenly made me remember i've got a place of refuge for us to go in the event of an emergency and have foil blankets and our procedure covers taking the reg forms and contact details with the phone during our practices but i haven't filled by big red emergency bag up with anything!!!!!! I thought i'd ask what useful items other settings have for 'just in case'!?!

Qualified Staff

I know you have to have at least 50% of the staff in a setting qualified, does level 2 count as qualified or does it have to be level 3 and above to comply with Ofsted and the EYFS
