Hi - I have recently adapted policies from PLA - and upon reading them I can't see where they say you log an incident ie "when a child hurts another, hit bite etc" - we have had a incident book to log them and monitor, but it seems to say in the pla policies that this information is logged into children's personal files. Evening, We are a new Pre-school in a pack-away setting in a village hall. Just wondered if anyone had any examples of kitchen cleaning daily/weekly/monthly type cleaning schedules/checklists, like the sort that are mentioned on the Food Hygiene course? You really have to be Jack of all trades in this job...cleaner, caretaker, cook, teacher,nurse, social worker, marriage guidance bureau, heating engineer , theatre producer....and all for £9.00 an hour!!! What a bargain. You only have to look at my own kitchen to know that food hygiene is not my speciality. Hi! In preparing for our new term which starts next week I was trying to see if there have been any changes in the advice for settings over the summer. I did read an e-article from Nursery World that we should remove any cuddly toys....... what do you think? Is this correct, have you done it? I can't find that in any official advice and am wondering what to do.

I'm usually quite playful with the preschoolers. As such, many of them enjoy calling me names. Things like Marky Parky, not things like stupid head. Anyway, yesterday another member of staff verbally reprimanded the children, saying that's not how we talk to adults.
