Hi, We are a new setting about to open in September. It's all getting a bit too real!! Just wondering about the register in a Pre-school setting. I am a teacher so am used to using the official blue school registers however do not particularly want to use one of those in pre-school, although I know lots of people do but I find it a bit confusing when you have got different children every day and don't want to be calling out all the names. Hi, we are currently planning to offer this to our maintained nursery parents from January. We currently offer 2 2half hour sessions and would be interested in what other schools are planning to do in terms of offering flexibility to parents and also in terms of staffing etc... Any practical suggestions we would be most grateful!

Hi, Just wondered if any one else has done something similar... my head wants me to find out from parents what they think/thought of the induction process, e.g. induction visits prior to starting school, home visits and information etc. Any ideas for the best way to approach this? Also thinking it would be nice to find out from the children (reception age) what they thought of it e.g. how happy they were starting school, but how would I be able to do this? Maybe get the school council to chat to the class with some key questions?? Thanks!

Does anyone still have separate Equality and Diversity and Inclusion/SEN policies? We keep coming across conflicting advice and guidelines about the policies that we should have in place - I think that we should kep them separate, mentioning our provision for SEN within our Equality Policy and signposting to the Inclusion?SEN policy for more detail. There also seems to be some confusion over what shoould be in an Inclusion Policy - some people say it is just SEN and others say that it is far wider. I would welcome some opinions and suggestions!

Hi Guys, I am re designing my accident/medicine forms etc so I can keep them in children individual folders. I currently have a book for any injuries/marks that children come into nursery with. Hi. Can anyone help? I've been updating our policies and have bought the pre-school learning alliance ones which are very good. I previously used there's before and just added bits in, but now it looks to have totally changed where they're set out under each of the areas of the welfare requirements. Will it matter if i don't have them under these areas as long as i cover all of the policies? Was thinking of putting an action plan together to show that we intend on re-arranging this. I've just got so much to do, that i don't know whether i'll be able to manage this as well. Am currently re-arranging and re-typing a lot of my operational plan and we're going through …
