Can anyone please advise me if they have a policy regarding conduct from parents. I am a pre school leader and lately there is an ongoing issue with a parent not communicating with myself and discussing my character with other parents. The parent will communicate through my assistant. Please can anyone advise!!!!!! Monica

Okey dokey ... right then How long do we keep registers for - have heard advice ranging from a term ... 3 years .... til the next inspection ... 10 years... until the child is 21 ... for 21 years ... Doesn't seem very clear! Need to know about registers / child records / accident forms / medication forms If it is 21 years is there anyone in the southeast who'd like to go shares on a warehouse?! (LOL) Help me please before I either file too much or throw something away that I shouldn't do! Many thanks my lovelies pw xx

Children Of Staff Policy?
by Guest- 17 replies

I think that a children of staff policy must be the only thing we don't have! We have just appointed a new leader to start in September and she would like her to attend 3 sessions (we are open 5 mornings a week). She will be a registered paying child and I have no problems with it but do want a policy in place so we all know where we stand. I am thinking along the lines of managing the childs expectation of parental interaction etc. Should the parent be keyworker or not? Is there anything I need to include - what are your experiences from having a staff members child at the setting? Thank you Kirsty

Uniform And Footwear

Hello everyone, One or two issues have been raised in the last couple of weeks with the much warmer weather, such as what is acceptable footwear and should staff wear strappy tops. Just wondered what others think. The setting is quite large (21 staff - many quite young). We do obviously have not only health and safety issues to consider but also parents' views and maintaining a professional appearance. What do you do? Do you have restrictions on footwear - flip flops? covered shoes? What about hair? Piercings? Would be very interested in your comments. Thanks! Lesley
