   i was just wondering does anyone have a policy on toys from home? i'm finding it causes lots of problems and then having to find the toys at the end of a very busy day is getting beyond a joke specially when it's bedtime must have! any suggestions would be very much appreciated

   Can any one help me with the ratio for LOs in a school nursery? I was told it is the same as in school, that is 1-30 but how can that be when qualified staff have to be 1-13 during the sessions?

   hi just a quick one on the olc subject of staffing ratio's an example: lunchtime, 1 member of staff with 11 over 3's sat having a story, due to a child being taken to the toilet across the hallway by the other practitioner.. were we under ratios because that member of staff left the room?, is it in the room or building overall? , obviously the manager was on duty but dealing with a parent so couldnt cover in the room

   Hi all, some of our staff who are NVQ 3 students have said that our child protection policy is not as up to date as needed, they said that ours had the 'wrong terms' in and needed updating. soes anyone have an update one i could look at (ideally for a nursery), or at least direct me in the direction of some updated information so that i can update our policy. thanks in anticipation Dawn

   I have been told today that my local authority will be carrying out a health and safety inspection on my setting this week! I have never had one of these before and wonder if anyone can tell me exactly what they will be doing, looking for, what to look at, what paperwork i may have to show.... I have 2 day to get everything 'up together' and im wondering if i am mising anything! All reponses will be gratefully recieved!
