Has anyone got a staff confidentiality policy that they could share with me please. I'm having a talk with my staff tomorrow regards to confidentiality not discussing pre-school outside of pre-school time, I seem to have a member of staff talking about the children in the playground after school. They did however sign a confidentility policy when they started, but I have just read the one that I issued to them and it doesnt mention anything about confideniality outside of preschool hours. i would like to include something about if parents approach them about not being happy, other children etc that they must say to them "sorry due to confidentiality i can not discuss iss…

Appraisal_Form_X_Pre_school.doc Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm hoping someone will move it if not. I wanted to give something back to the forum, as you've all been so kind in answering my questions. The attached form is a combination of two forms I found on here, with some changes of my own. I'm planning to use it for staff appraisals next term (I'm committee chair), hope some others find it useful.

Does anyone have a violence against staff members policy? and where legally do we stand with barring parents from the setting? This hasn't happened yet, but we have a current mum that is well known to professionals in the town who is prone to 'kicking off' and has been barred from the local sure start centre twice for abusive behaviour towards staff. We have a partnership meeting on Monday with the parents, HV, Sure start, Play therapist, Ed Pshyc, possibly Social services and SENCO we are hoping. I am worried she will start whilst in the setting. If she does start on staff can we barr her but not her child? (dad mostly brings him and collects) or is there …

Anyone willing to share theirs if they have one? Also does your setting have something in writing which states that staff should not discuss setting matters outside of the setting? ppp

As part of a course unit on contributing to the Health and Wellbeing of children, I am putting together a sun protection policy. While researching this, I came across the following article in the daily telegraph. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/155...from-three.html Although this article was dated 2007, this was the first I have heard of this (in spite of having copious amounts of information about keeping children safe in the sun, sun glasses appear very much in the small print). This seems to be fairly important information and I wondered why it was not generally in the common domain. I emailed the Yorkshire Eye Hospital, who were behind this…

hi all, what do you do about asthma pumps? ours kept at the setting don't have the label from the dispensing pharmacy on so we can't check required dosage etc. also, so you get parents of children with pumps kept at the setting to sign consent every day their child attends in case you need to adminster an emergency dose?? Can anyone help with this Can anyone define what it means when it says on the EYFS full requirments for reception class that a person may be an overseas qulified teacher or an 'instuctor'( someone with the necessary qualifications or experience or both where the govenors are satisfied with the qualifiactios or experience). I am a Level 4 montessori Teacher with 17 years experience does this count towards me being able to have 1:30 ratio or am I only allowed 1:8?

Not sure I've put this in the right place but... The NSPCC have introduced a new toolkit to protect children and young people. It's free and you can apply on-line: http://www.nspcc.org.uk/Inform/trainingand...t_wda47804.html

Help! We are restructuring staffing within the Early Years. I had always thought that we had to have a minimum of two members of staff in the nursery no matter how small the group of children. Is this correct or could we be asked by SMT to have 1 member of staff only if their are less than 13 children? Do the same rules apply to reception class? Thanks Annie
