Fee's Policy

Hi The Pre-school I support are trying to update there policies in line with the EYFS welfare requirements Section 1 Safeguarding & promoting children's welfare 2 Suitable Person 3 Suitable premises, environment & equipment 4 Organisation 5 Documentation However the Fee's policy seem's to fit in more than one? I think it could go in 4 or 5 as its part of the organisation without it there would be no pre-school, however it could equally go in documentation. Would anyone else like to share their views with me Sam

Have just received job/person specification for a manager for an outdoor sessional pre-school, affiliated to a local church which sounds very exciting. I feel I can meet the skills requirements, personal qualities and attributes and grow into the role However, at the bottom it states that the setting has a 'Christian ethos, this post is a designated post for which there is a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to demonstrate a clear commitment to the Christian faith. This is to provide spiritual leadership and maintain the Christian ethos of the setting' Now, I have been christened and am C of E, go to church for weddings, funerals, christenings…

Fire Procedures

Does anyone do an induction procedure for new parents about what to do in case of a fire. we are a private nursery and although we give parents a copy of our fire procedure it does not state what to do if you are dropping off or picking up a child during a fire drill, what do other settings do? do you explain to parents what to do and where the assembly point is? (as i wonder how many actually read the policies)

Policies Quiz!

At a staff training day on Friday, I have been given the unenviable task of running a short session designed to refresh the staff's working knowledge of our policies and procedures. Even worse, I've been given the "graveyard" slot, straight after lunch. I'm thinking that I need to make it light-hearted and snappy really and have decided that maybe I should do some kind of team quiz with spot prizes, giving them 15 minutes or so to "revise" beforehand. Has anyone done this sort of thing before with their staff...or has anyone got any better ideas for the session??

I have a new member of staff from another setting who has suggested having a book to log nappies changed and their condition and also when a child has had an accident. Please can you give me your thoughts on this. I have worked at 2 other settings and have never heard of this withing a pre-school envionment. i knew it was common in nurseries but thought this was more for babies and those who are there for extended periods of time ie: 8 until 6. we áre sessional, the longest session being 9 - 2.45. we accept all children, potty trained or not obviously and have some children with special needs where nappies are essential.

Hi, I am currently in the process of re-organising our policies and relating them to the EYFS strands of enabling environments, Unique Child, Posotive Contributions, Parents as Partners. I did try just having the four folders but this was not working, so going back to the five every child matters, outcomes and linking them to eyfs. Please Please can anybody help, do you have an index or certain order that you put yours in. I would be grateful for any comments or document that you use to organise yours. thanking you in anticipation.
