Hope someone can help me A question has arisen about whether or not we can use a microwave oven to warm children's food brought in from home. In the past we have used one to heat either food in jars or homemade food, but now we are not sure. Does anyone know of any guidelines to using microwaves in nurseries? Thank you KJH

In the past I have had Accident/Incident books from the PLA when I was a member. When I cancelled my membership I got hold of a pack from Chancellor Formecon Ltd that included an A4 sized pad on which to write accidents or incidents. I will be coming to the end of the pad soon and need to get something to write any accidents at Pre-school in. I prefer one page for each accident - can anyone help me please? What do you use? Sue J

ok, thorny old issue of fees, collection of!! Do any of you insist on a payment in lieu if a parent removes their child from your setting without notice??We ask parents to sign a separate form saying they realise one month's notice, or fees in lieu must be given before they take their child off register.I have a parent who, to put it politely, is telling me there is no way he is going to pay..............also owes a relatively small amount of fees on top of this........what would you do??

Hi there, have just come in froma fairly heated staff meeting/disscussion which included childrens photos. In the past the staff have always handed any photographic evidence (from profiles) of their keychildren to the parents, when the child leaves our setting for school. We have now been informed that some parents may not like this as their children may be on photographs, which other parents may put on a web site, and if that happens and it gets into the wrong hands who knows... Am I making myself clear?. Do we need parents to sign something if they have these photos, is there a law that says the pre-school will be liable if gone into wrong hands or does it lie with each…

Looking at information received regarding meeting the every child matters outcomes, I noticed it said we should not only have a visitors log (which we have) but also a visitors information sheet. Does anybody else have this and if so would they be kind enough to share. many thanks.
