Hi colleagues, The other day we made 'magic' wands and I asked the children what they wanted to be turned into. Some of the girls said (not surprisingly) a princess. This included at least one girl of African origin. I have been trying to find images of real (rather than Disney) African princesses to add to a display of our more familiar princesses - any ideas? (There are some royal families in Africa, but not many princesses!) Thanks in advance, Cjules

Hi my head has only just announced that she would like the whole school to be invoved in an art project to commemorate the jubilee. As we are skint there is no big money to be thrown at this so she's just going to free me up for a couple of days !!!!(I'm art coordinator). She has visions of something permanent for the school (we have lots of mosaics and pottery tile art on the walls which children have done in the past but we want something different) and she would like all children involved somehow. I am absolutely stumped for ideas especially as it will have to be done on a shoestring. Has anyone got any ideas? Can you tell me if your school is involved in such a projec…

Hi everyone I think there may have been posts about how you are celebrating the Queens Jubilee but can't see them anywhere. Could be just me in a hurry. So can you please let me know how you are going to celebrate. We are thinking of doing something on the Wednesday before we break up. Are you inviting parents to your event? Or are you going out to celebrate with another setting? Will you just do something during the morning with the children (not with parents)? How are you celebrating the event? Please let me know what you are going to be up to - ideas would really be appreciated. We really need to organise ourselves very soon. Thank you in advance. …
